Good luck Cajuns! Bring home the SBC a bowl win. 04-rock

Wish WKU would have had a chance to do the same, but we know how that turned out. 03-banghead

I believe they will put up funds but before this season, they had already remodeled the stands, renovated bathrooms, and did several other things that I can't think of right now.

I read that the game against UL is the one we'll be dropping to play South Alabama next year.

The Troy/Monroe game is being dropped not Troy/ULL

I feel bad for WKU. However, what this shows is we have a Commissoner that is very weak and has no pull anywhere. A good commissioner would have been fighting for WKU. I will be glad to see when the door pops him in the ### on the way out!!

RE: Looks like San Diego State to New Orleans
Interesting. First time since the inaugural New Orleans Bowl in 2001 that a Mountain West team is playing in the game. 2001 pivoted then MWC juggernaut Colorado State against North Texas of the Sun Belt. Colorado State won the game 45-20.

However, this is not the Mountain West of old. San Diego State is 8-4 and their most complete game of the season resulted in a 27-14 home loss to TCU. They struggled all season edging out Army (3-8), Colorado State (3-9), and Fresno (4-9) beating this trifecta by a combined 13 points.

Louisiana-Lafayette can beat the Aztecs.

If WW said a bowl had to take WKU before FIU, we would only have 2 teams bowling this year.

The only reason Beefs wanted FIU was because they knew with a regional team they would sell a lot more tickets.

If WW gave Beefs an ultimatetum, they wouldve went and got another team from a different conference that would sell more tickets.

WW was looking out for the conference when he allowed this to happen because it brings in more money to the conference as opposed to only having 2 teams bowling.

Sucks for WKU, but that is the way it goes.

Most of the teams in the SBC have now felt the cold shoulder of bowl rejection before. Its not fun, but it is the way it goes sometimes.

RE: Looks like San Diego State to New Orleans
I posted this in the FIU bowl thread so I thought I'd share it with you guys.

When buying tickets for our bowls TROY fans got together and bought extra tickets. They donated those extra tickets to our marching band, the Sound of the South, and that helped alleviate costs.

Perhaps Louisiana fans can get together, buy extra tickets, and donate them to their band. Just some helpful advice from a fellow Sun Belter. 04-cheers

Nation, you are completely wrong on your prog here. When there is a bowl opening, the bowls must select an 8-4 team prior to a 7-5 team, provided that there is no conference tie-in. Fat ### has no say in that matter. Where he has to fight is for a bowl to take an 7-5 WKU vs. a 7-5 WMU. No one said anything about an ultimatetum.

It is not a secert that Fat ### is getting out due to the fact that there is some conference realignment coming down the pipeline and he will zero impact on it. He is just a fat fish in a small pond!!

If you were on the board of the Little Ceasers bowl in Detroit who would you choose to play Purdue?

Western Michigan or Western Kentucky?

Both teams are 7-5.

team A attendance avg: just under 15.5k
team B attendance avg: just under 20k

team A is 8 hours from Detroit
team B is 2.5 hours from Detroit

You tell me which team you would realistically pick.

btw, if you didn't figure it out, Team A is WKU, Team B is WMU.

How does a team with a losing record of 6-7, UCLA, get in a bowl before a 7-5 WKU team?

The bowls do not have to select an 8-4 team before a 7-5 team. If that was the case, Temple would have been bowling last year. They sat home at 8-4.

They'll bring a much better team than the majority of CUSA. Tulsa, Houston & USM being the exceptions.
