In all college sports and all professional sports there is a playoff. Not sure on the exact number but it is well over 200 different playoff tournaments and FBS college football is the only one that does not have a playoff.

And 95% of the people not wanting a rematch will watch the game anyway, because we're addicted. The only way to send a message is to not watch the game.
