RE: 2012 FB Schedule
I still think either BGSU or Miami will be moved to the West to balance out the divisions, so I don't know how the scheduling will work then. I'm guessing we'll only play two games against the East then.

I'd guess BG will move to the West and EMU will play @BG.

2012 will be a great year. Love the schedule. The biggest rivals come to Rynearson.

RE: 2012 FB Schedule
I agree that @BG looks likely with BG moving to the West, and then two cross-division games. I've never understood MAC cross-division scheduling, though. How do you know EMU won't play Akron or Kent State again? (I'm assuming no Buffalo because they've played the last two years.)

Pretty good.

Most likely Nov @ WMU or heaven forbid UT @ EMU also in Nov.

MAC needs to guess the top teams in each division and schedule them in Nov. for ESPN.

Do you think we will get more EMU students if we had the games during the weekday and not have to compete against Michigan or compete against students leaving the area for the weekend?

RE: 2012 FB Schedule
We need to get some 3-1 contracts with some big 10/12 or acc teams. I remember when Maryland came we had a decent crowd for an EMU team that was not that great. On a side note, we did hang with them for the first half.

Scheduling three for one is no way to build a program. Just schedule competitive teams and win games. Winning is the only way to bring in better recruits and build attendance. I would never consider more than a two for one, and then it would have to be UM or Michigan State.

U-M is never going to give EMU a 2-1. The Wolverines have now gone 8 straight seasons with no away games other than Big Ten and Notre Dame. They've got a few coming up (2012 "at" Alabama but really neutral, 2013 at Connecticut) but I can't imagine them ever playing at a MAC school. They just make too much money from each home game to give one up.

We tried to get them to play us a home game at Ford field they wouldn't go for it even when told they could have the gate minus our cost.

As for Michigan State, they're coming in (I believe) 2018 or 2020.

Makes sense. I am not convinced that State wants to play before 30K at Rynearson.

RE: 2012 FB Schedule
I didn't say, nor do I believe that U of m would come to EMU. I just said that's the only way I would sign a 2 for one deal. You need home games with teams you can be competitive with. It doesn't help to tell a recruit that we were 0-12 last year, but we got paid real well to go to their place and lost to some really good teams.
