Big Win for the Wolfpack
This State team is like Jekel and Hyde. We beat Carolina, lose to BC and then stomp the number 7 team in the country. I'll take it but hopefully the pack doesn't follow the trend and come out flat against a bad Maryland team. They have to win next week to be bowl eligible. I don't understand why they schedule FCS teams and put themselves in that position. Anyway, it's a good day, State wins, Appalachian wins and ECU is tied up in the 4th.

It was a great win for NCST. They played a great game for sure. But what was Clemson doing out there? They did not look like the team I've seen earlier this season.

As Syracuse has been fairly similar to NCST this year, it's good to see we could potentially compete in the ACC right away.

I keep waiting for the Pack to get over the hump but they are so inconsistent. They beat some good teams (Carolina, Clemson, UVA) and then struggle with teams that they should be able to handle. Maybe there is just a lot of parity in the conference. I think Pitt and Syracuse will fit right in. Only VT seems to be able to handle a little success.

Why does NCSU still employ O'Brien? It seems like he has not been very good since he took over for Ammato (sp?). I think the wolfpack needs to find a new coach soon.

RE: Big Win for the Wolfpack
TOB has never lost to UNC since he has been at state. That is basically the equivalent of 3 wins in 1. So going 5 and 6 when beating Carolina is like going 7 and 4. But seriously, he is well liked and the team has had a great deal of injuries when they have had losing records. We thought perhaps we were turned the corner after last years season but this year hasn't gone as well as expected. But heck we should have a winning record despite the ups and downs. Seven and five with victories over UNC-CH, Clemson and UVA and a bowl game makes it hard to fire him. Now if we lay an egg next week against Maryland and we sit at home over the holidays he just might be gone.

I think TOB pulled a Sendek and saved his job for another year with yesterday's drubbing of the Tiggers. Pretty much the consensus was if NC State didn't make a bowl game this year, TOB was gone. Of course, if the Pack craps the bed next week against a miserable Maryland team, he could still be canned, but I doubt it...this year.

Dunno, Lucy -- plenty of vocal folks over on PackPride keep saying it's Bowl or Bust for TOB.

Personally, I think his 5-0 record against UNC, coupled with yesterday's drubbing of Clemson will buy him one more season. Then again, if they come out against Maryland as flat as they did against BC, all bets are off.
