There actually are more than a few posters at GMG that have overdosed on green kool-aid. I think the 10 or 20 point victory predictions have came as a result of 4? 5? straight wins over WKU, some comments about Bowen, the fact that you loss to Indy State(although I think if that game was this week, you would crush them, there's no question your a different team now) and the fact that our offense exploded this past weekend. I've been on GMG for over four years, I don't post that often, but the banter you're reading over there is nothing new. We have never wanted to beat WKU so bad because if we win this there's a really good shot at 6-6. The game is going to go down to the wire though, can't wait till Saturday.

the only article i saw referencing this was from usatoday where this line stood out to me.

"People expect Bobby Rainey to be the No. 1 running back, but I think I've proven that I'm better than him," Dunbar said. "They see different. I'm going to show them different."

here is the rest of the article.

I know for a fact I heard Rainey saying he was better before the season started. That was three months ago, and I don't really remember. But I do remember reading it on GMG then reading Lance's comments. Could Lance have said something before? I don't know, I may be wrong. But I'm pretty sure Rainey said something before Lance did.

well I'm sure hearing it on gmg trumps usa today as a credible source. when do I get to quote an idiot like our carolina topper as la verdad.?

rainey is one of the most humble people we've had. rare for a football player.

I am fairly certain what you heard from Rainey was his response when asked a question about Dunbar's comments in the USA Today. Dunbar fired the first shot, and Bobby was asked about it. IMO Rainey did a nice job of diffusing the situation while still letting it be known that he felt he was the better back.

As to the original post in this thread. It just seems like there is a lot more animosity toward WKU fans coming from NT fans than usual. There was a post in this thread saying that WKU has to pay its dues. We understand that. I don't really think you will find very many "arrogant" WKU football posts. At the same time why do we have to be punished for having a good team even if we are only in our third year of FBS football? If you're a good team, you're a good team. Who cares how many years you've played big boy football?

rainey is one of the most humble people we've had. rare for a football player.

I swear I read something before that article that had Rainey saying he was better, but that was in August, and honestly I don't really care. I'm not getting fired up or mad at either player, they're both great backs and Saturday should be fun. In an interview with Dunbar this week, he said he looks forward to meeting Rainey and shaking his hand. Lance is incredibly humble and quite as well, although from that quote I can see how he looks arrogant. If Lance said it first, then I stand corrected, I just don't remember to be honest.

I don't know, some people on GMG predict us to win every game, even against the likes of Alabama. Some of them think since we've won the past four that we're a lock to win Saturday. I don't see it that way, just looking forward to seeing two programs that have been at the bottom finally making strides and playing potentially for the postseason and seeing the two best backs in the belt battle it out. It is going to be the ****. Beed you making it down to Dentoon?>
