IMO the SBC teams are a little more athletic and have better overall speed but MAC teams are tough, physical and well coached.

The games are only exciting if you think games with no defense at all are fun. I dont.

Did you watch the NIU and Toledo game? Both teams have offenses to compete with most teams. Speed is not a problem, eric page, Adonis Thomas, Austin Dantin, Chandler Harnish etc... Are very fast. Defenses are suspect but both teams have been scoring on all opponents.

Yes I did, and neither team can keep anyone out of the endzone. Thanks

Still fast players, speed was all over the place in that game.

Sorry, but if my teams cheerleaders play better defense than what I see in a college game on TV, I will be bored, no matter how many 100 yard plays there are. ASU's defense will smack you to reality VERY quickly.

Toledo lost, none of us will be playing them this bowl season. Though they are welcome to schedule us nonconference, Schedule requests may be sent to head coach Hugh Freeze.

Why won't we be playing an SBC team? If NIU loses a game, and Toledo wins out they win the west. And the MAC west is far better than the east, so the MAC champ will most likely be Toledo or NIU. And NIU has two of the teams with 1 conference loss still on the schedule. Toledo at worst will end up 7-5. And with that could be playing an SBC teams in a few different bowl games. Go daddy or LCB, because the big10 still might not fill that bowl this year. I'm not sure about the new Orleans bowl, but that can't be totally out of question either.

Im not sure I see NIU losing before the end of the season, though its certainly possible. I agree you could run into some SBC teams in other bowl games, but most of us would prefer to pretend we'll be playing in conferenc bowl games.

NIU at Bowling Green....Looks like another night of 'all offense, no defense'.

Both defenses look like they are running in a vat of molasses.

I've seen some hard hits tonight, and the defense is starting to tighten a bit.

Evidently you aren't watching Toledo! Their defense is pathetic.

I'm watching NIU at Bowling Green. Defense is spotty.

NIU has real troubles with the blitz. Their line is really bad when it comes to picking up blocks on the run.

I did not see any dbs or lbs who could cover any competent SBC receiver.. Certainly UL's group of Lawson, Surgent, Peoples and Green would shred either team. I also didn't see really remarkable speed on offense... good, but not outstanding.

We held them to 14.

The NIU offense is averaging 42 ppg and has scored 40+ points in eight of 10 games this season.

Oh, OK, I'll finish the statement for you. "The NIU offense is averaging 42 ppg and has scored 40+ points in eight of 10 games this season AND managed to lose 2 of those games that we scored 40+ points because our defense has the ability at times to be as daunting as a middle school JV squad." I think that sounds about right.

Tuesday night in the MAC is just awful. It's the joke of college football. Nobody watches...nobody cares. If a MAC game sucks and nobody watches...did it really happen?

That is 8-2 and averages just under 30k in attendance.

Yep. Random.

We can't all be from Philly.

actually the tuesday game had a lot of viewers and got a lot of discussion in the national media. The wednesday game last week had 1.3 million viewers. A lot of peopled watched and a lot of people cared. I enjoyed watching Ohio beat you guys last year, it wasn't very difficult though. I think the bigger joke in college football is your Chili's Restaurant inspired logo.

The Cajun is just stirring the pot.

I've watched quite a few Mac games, and enjoyed it....even without the defensive involvement. Then again, I like college football.
