I'll give you 3 of them.

Rice, Tulane, and Southern Miss.

They don't want the competition.

Good Grief boomer 03-drunk

I am enjoying watching La Tech groveling and several others praying for devine intervention so they can get in C-USA. I think that UL is doing what every school has or will do, looking toward the future. I think that future is in a already good in the SBC, and soon to be better . It is more fun to watch the show than to be part of it. Lets stay out of this free for all. 05-mafia

RE: Realignment thoughts
Theres always one fan of every SBC school who openly searches for a way out of the league. Most of those still see the SBC as what it was 5-10 years ago.

The fact is and remains that UL, UNT, and ASU have been tied together for quite a while now, and pretty much helped move the SBC towards adding football. Sepearting from the others would be really hard for a school to do unless they were assured that the rewards outweighed the negatives. Its part of the reason that UL and UNT turn down WAC invites every other day.

CUSA might be one of the few leagues to pull it off, but even then it would be difficult. You might convince UNT to follow so they can get in with Tulsa and Rice, but if the SBC added the two Texas WAC schools, would that change things.

UL and ASU will not get in CUSA unless the Memphis, Rice, and Tulanes of the world relent and allow the invites to go out.

With the departures of Houston, SMU and UCF the sunbelt took a giant step forward in the competition department. Only ECU and USM are consistently better than the top half of the belt.
