the two divisions are seperate, they don't need to be lumped in to one ranking system.

Fine think what you want too, but come bowl season the SBC won't want to see Toledo this year.

The same was said last year and yet FIU handed you your rears.

If you mean kick a field goal to win by 2. Yes handed us our rears. Last year Toledo didn't play nearly the schedule of this year.
LAST YEAR::::::::::::::::::::::THIS YEAR
Arizona got beat by 39 = Syracuse "lost" by 3
Boise State lost by 43< this years Boise State lost by 25
Purdue won by 14 < Ohio State lost by 5
Wyoming lost by 5< New Hampshire won by 35

Arizona < Syracuse
Boise State < this years Boise State
Purdue < Ohio State
Wyoming > New Hampshire

And we got 40 put up on us a lot last year. Toledo's D is improved a lot, and so is the Offense with 2 very good QB's. And a three headed monster in the backfield.

I'm not saying Toledo isn't much improved because they are, but it's a but early to say that the Belt should watch out for Toledo. The Sun Belt went 2-1 against the MAC in the bowl season last year. NIU is the only team I would say can beat a Belt team any given day.

NIU lost to 2-7 CMU, 48-40. And beat 2-7 Buffalo 31-30 on a missed PAT by Buffalo in the closing seconds. UT plays NIU Tuesday, but NIU is not even close to as good as they were last year. I you have watched the MAC this year, you would know it's Toledo vs. the field to win the conference. Temple, NIU, EMU, OU, and Ball State fall somewhere behind us in no particular order.

Sagarin and other ranking sites have Toledo in the 30's, while NIU is in the 60's and 70's.

As stated many times on the board Sargarin rankings mean nothing here. I do agree that Toledo is a great team and there's no reason why you guys shouldn't win the MAC, but NIU is a scary team in the bowl season. They beat TROY in 04 and MTSU last season. I can tell you obviously hate NIU so I'll stop mentioning them.

RE: SBC Bowl Eligible Teams
any system that will rank an FCS team next to an FBS team is total bs. FCS teams playing fellow FCS teams, and by beating them attaining an FBS ranking, is ridiculous. Now if an FCS program played an entire FBS schedule and did well then sure, I could see them gaining ground and justifying an FBS rank, but they play lesser competition week in and week out and thus don't deserve to be lumped in with programs that are playing FBS schedules.

you wouldn't rank a JV squad in the Varsity polls, or a CFL team in the NFL standings. they are seperate leagues, don't try to mix-n-match.

your logic is flawed, every team in this league would welcome the opportunity to play Toledo. Its a frickin bowl game, we'd go play Alabama and not whine one bit.

Remember Go Daddy gets first pick of MAC this year, someone's going to run into an SBC school, thats for sure.

FEAR US!!! WE ARE TOLEDO!!! 03-lmfao Maybe Toledo is monster team this year, I don't know, but I'll say this: Anytime a MAC, WAC or Conf USA team has a good year, they think they will come in and run over the Sun Belt in a bowl game, which to my knowledge, hasn't happened outside of maybe when we had all just moved from FCS a couple years or so before. Respect to Toledo, congrats, but don't come on here expecting us to tremble in our shoes because you show up espousing how great you are...puhlease.05-mafia

I feel certain that the Cajuns or stAte will give them all they want. Heck, I'd bet WKU would too.

Sun Belt board, Sun Belt opinions. take your MAC homerism to the MAC board where it belongs, or accept our homerism here. I don't believe for a second that you expect anyone on OUR board to take YOUR view as their own. be respectful man, geeze. 01-wingedeagle

I will agree with him that Toledo is good. I won't agree that they are that much better than our top team. It may be so, but I'll have to see the game played first.

Toledo and Arkansas State are about neck and neck. BCS standings are #45 Toledo & #47 Arkansas State.

Come on dude, the majority of posters here are saying the top of the MAC (including Toledo) are good teams; we're just saying there is no way you would steam roll us. You can just look at past history between the SBC and MAC to see that; look at 2008 Central Michigan (whose record was more impressive than Toledo this year) against Troy in the GMAC bowl (44-41 OT).

Yes ark state is terrific, but I was 03-zzz at the WKU added to that. Didn't they lose to Indiana St.? I thought you weren't suppose to lose to fcs teams...

WKU is certainly better than last year, or as expected. But IMO they are like emu. Great for themselves, just okay in the grand spectrum of non aq. Ark state is prolly 50-50 with toledo, maybe ULL is 40% or better chances to beat Toledo. FIU is prolly a little less.

We realize our ignorance. Toledos defense averaged giving up like 36 a game.

I have a lot of faith in WKU...more than WKU fans on most games...but I think they finally cleared that mental hurdle keeping them down.
We've all had those Indy St games. A few bad breaks that snowballs into the team giving up. The Indy St game was theirs.

I would take FIU, Arkansas State, and Louisiana over any bowl teams the MAC or WAC. Especially FIU once they get those 2-3 weeks off to heal up their injuries. FIU's wins over Louisville and UCF are starting to look better.
