Farmer officially named UL AD
The UL Board of Supervisors officially approved the appointment of Scott Farmer as the Director of Intercollegiate Athletics at the University of Louisiana.

Farmer has been the interim AD since the retirement of David Walker in January, 2011.

Farmer served as Senior Associate AD from August, 2007 until becoming interim AD.

He was previously the senior associate AD at Troy University.

It's a great day to be a Ragin' Cajun.

He and his wife are good people. I hated to see them leave Troy but some people didn't feel like he was AD material. 01-wingedeagle

Glad to see a former GSU Eagle alum doing well. I guess some are not as dumb as me! Congrats to Scott and Louisiana.

We've been very fortunate to have him working here. Farmer was in charge of both the hires of Bob Marlin and Mark Hudspeth, so I'd say he's doing very well thusfar. You won't find a cajun fan with anything negative to say about him, which is odd for someone that is the AD.

State law requires you to open or list the position for interviews for six months from the effect date of retirement of Administration positions. AD David Walker's retirement was not officially effective until April 1st. Farmer's salary was adjusted along with approving him for the position. I do not know the approved salary at this time.
