Quote:FIU kicker Jack Griffin has made the first cut of nominees for the 2011 Lou Groza Award given to the nation's best kicker.

Originally, 30 kickers were nominated for the award at the start of the 2011 season. The ballot has been whittled down to 20 kickers. HERE is the list of the 20 semi-finalists. The winner of the Groza Award will be announced on ESPN's College Football Awards show on Dec. 8.

Griffin is tied with two other kickers for the most made field goals in the nation this season. JG has made 15 field goals as have Florida kicker Caleb Sturgis and Texas A&M kicker Randy Bullock.
