You picked up +4 on a single post, probably a board record.

Every Sun Belt fan should care about the ranking of a broken system that has no real bearing on us? Ok...you ready? I'm gonna start caring...any second now...

Most of us tend to worry about such mundane thins such as the records of our favorite teams.

If it actually meant anything, we would. It's a garbage rating system.

it's something to reference, sure GSU is ranked higher than any team in the SBC but I know we would not steamroll everyone in the SBC if we were a conference member this year, I do think we would be competitive though.

The thing is, you wouldn't be. Could you be competitive with just about any team in the conference in one game? Yeah you probably could, maybe even a couple of times in one season, but due to your less scholarships you couldn't do it over the course of the season especially once you factor in playing 2-4 OOC games where you're really over your head. The thing about Sagarin rankings are they are a decent way of comparing two teams in a vacuum and how a game might go between those two teams if the one game were played inthat vacuum, but that's not how college football is played and that is why Sagarin is ultimately a highly flawed system.

Sagarin doesn't handle undefeated well. Harvard was rated 40 something the year they went undefeated and did not play one school that awarded football scholarships. I'm sure there were really 80 FBS and 100+ FCS schools they would have beaten that year. 03-lmfao

I think we all ought to commit to neg repping the hell out of anyone that comes onto the board for the lone purpose of posting sagarins to demonstrate the false premise that some podunk 1aa amalgamation has a higher sagarin rating in football.

Obviously the depth of having 63 vs 85 scholarships would come into play during a full season, but the question is what would happen if we had 22 more scholarships and the talent was roughly at the same level as the 63?
