Which conference would you rather have the Big East play in basketball, since ACC still enjoys beating down the Big 10 they are out of it.

I would choose Big 12 since they have alot of good teams and Big east Basketball schools play them already. 6 BE school play at MGS and 6 others at Big 12 schools gyms

Uconn - KU
SU-OU at MGS
UL- Mizzu
Nova-OSU at MGS
UC-Texas
WVU-TT
G'town- ISU

Even though the Big Ten makes sense from a geographical standpoint I personally would like to see a Big East/Big 12 Showdown. UC has played a number of Big 12 teams over the last 10 years and they're fun to play.

Yeah until ACC decides to challege a "real" Basketball league :D Big 12 will have to do, playing the SEC wouldn't be fun as you would have 8 teams lining up to play Kentucky/Alabama

UofL-Mizzou? Yuck. I would go with UofL-Kansas or UofL-Oklahoma St (UofL vs Eddie Sutton again).

UC-Oklahoma or UC-Oklahoma State games would be great. We almost played Texas 2 or 3 years ago but got Oklahoma State instead for ESPN.

Yeah then you have other Big East schools like Providence that have a history against the long horns.

I just wish ACC would "dump" the Big 10 so we can play. ACC-BE challenge would be ABC quality games :D

UC-WF
UNC-Uconn

Since The Big East is the superior league, they would have to call it the Big East/ACC Challenge.

I think the Big 12 would be a very formidable challenge for the NBE.

Texas
Kansas
Oklahoma St
Oklahoma
Texas Tech.

Our top 5 against these teams does not gaurantee that we would win 3 out of 5. But we would definitely wear them down with #6- 12.

ESPN would dicate the matchups

UConn vs. Oklahoma-(Both are the favorites this year in their leagues)

Villanova vs. Texas
Louisville vs. Oklahoma State
West Virginia vs. Texas Tech
Syracuse vs. Kansas

I just wish the BE would dump the basketball schools and get on with it.

If may intervene here......

The BigTen has been down the past few years, but it's on the rebound.

Ohio State is obviously going be a force, now that their post-season ban is over with, and considering they were the only team to beat Illinois besides North Carolina (albeit on a lucky shot) and return most of their personnel plus freshmen and a good transfer from Bowling Green, they will be formidable.

Minnesota proved that having star egotistical players (Humphries, Rickert) can hurt a team more than help, by going to the tourney for the first time in a few years last year..... They return a decent core group and add a few players, too.

Wisconsin loses a few good players, including Mike Wilkinson and Zach Morley (the guy with the cool hair), but Alando Tucker will be healthy, and Brian Butch will have a chance to reach his potential.

Indiana is still youthful, and losing Ewing Jr and Wright certainly hurts..... There a few transfers plus the core of Vaden and White.

Purdue should not have been that bad last year. I think with Painter having full control the Boilers will definitely improve. Teague, Kiefer, and Landry are a very good trio.

Penn State loses Aaron Johnson, which is a big loss, but Geary Claxton, Ben Luber, and Travis Parker are all good players...... Perhaps Marlon Smith can return to the team, too.

For Iowa, Brunner, Horner, and Haluska are a very good trio...... They managed to play well even after Pierre Pierce got dismissed again.

Illinois loses Head, Powell, Williams, and Nick Smith, but they'll still be good, with Augustine and Dee Brown.

Northwestern has been solid under Carmody..... TJ Parker is leaving and the Wildcats might be the worst in the BigTeh next year, but no worse than South Florida, for example.

Michigan State loses Anderson, Bograkos, Hill, and Torbert...... They still have Paul Davis, Mo Ager, Shannon Brown, Neitzel, Naymick, and Trannon, though...... They won't be as deep, but they'll be solid.

And then there's Michigan...... Unfortunately for me, the Wolverines have been the epitome of an enigma....... You all probably rememeber the NIT championship a year ago, against Rutgers..... I was amidst that sea of red that night that was chanting "R.........U........R........ U....." numerous times..... and then it stopped. Michigan hit its free thows towards the end, and there was nothing that Lamizana could do for the Scarlet Knights despite his amazing performance the rest of the game...... Douby was shut down the whole game.

The problem, last year, though, was that the player who dominated Douby that night was a rookie in the NBA - Bernard Robinson Jr - who had a decent year for the Bobcats this season...... Furthermore, the best player on the team, Lester Abram, tore his ACL...... and then Daniel Horton got injured..... and shortly after he returned, he got suspended for the rest of the year on a domestic abuse accusation by his girlfriend..... Furthermore, pretty much the entire team, except the only freshman on the roster, Ron Coleman, missed at least a game due to injury.

This upcoming season, though, EVERYBODY returns..... Abram is healthy, Horton's legal problems are behind him, everyone else is healthy, and there is DEPTH with 4 newcomers.

Please stop bashing the BigTen - it will probably be the #3 conference and could be the #2 conference next year, with a lot of personnel lost in the ACC, some teams in the Big12 losing good players (esp Kansas, Oklahoma State), the SEC being raided by the NBA (Florida, Kentucky, LSU in particular), and the Pac10 not being so hot either.

The B12 is actually a pretty decent bb conference. Here were last year's top 9:

Kansas 12-4 23-7
Oklahoma 12-4 25-8
Oklahoma State 11-5 26-7
Texas Tech 10-6 22-11
Iowa State 10-7 19-12
Texas 9-8 20-11
Texas A&M 8-9 20-10
Missouri 8-9 16-17
Kansas State 7-10 17-12

I'm with L-yes. After we get our own conference, we can worry about a conference match-up. Until then, we're just treading water doing whatever MT & his bb cronies allow. With our own conference, we could set up not only a bb match-up, but also reciprocal fb games.

Hell, take on the top half of both leagues and add in the Top 4 teams from the Pac-10 - then we might have a series the other side could actually have a prayer of winning

I think Big East/Big 12 challenge would be great. Here are some possible match-ups:
Kansas-UConn
Oaklahoma State-L'ville
Texas Tech-Syracuse
Texas A&M-Villanova
Texas-Cincinnati
Missouir-West Virg.

I would still like to see Big East/ACC but for some reason I don't see the ACC wanting to play that series...they are too busy beating up on the Big 10 (former shell of itself) and feeling good about it too as if......

Go Bearcats!! Save Huggins!

Michiganfan; i have to agree with you about the Big10. You guys were crushed by the acc at the beginning of last season, but by seasons end, the Big10 redeemed itself, with MSU and Ill. The pecking order next year I think will be:

Really, really Big East
Big 12
Big 10
Acc
SEC
Pac10
CUSA
MWC
West Coast
Mac
