Who says they won't? It wouldn't surprise me if they did.

Sorry, no info on the 'rivalry' games, only guesses.

I'm assuming with Pittsnogle coming back to WVU TV will focus on -

UConn, SU, UL, UC, Nova, ND, WVU, Pitt and Georgetown.

So look for the round-robin games for TV to be centered around match-ups amongst these teams.

So, trying to think like TV execs, the Neers round-robins might be -

Louisville (a rematch of the Elite 8 game) Georgetown and Pitt, (regional rivals).

Cheers,
Neil

I predict:

Syracuse will play UConn, Notre Dame and Louisville

UConn will play Syracuse, Pitt, and Cinci

Pitt will play WVU, DePaul and Nova

WVU will play Pitt, Cinci and Georgetown

Cinci will play Louisville, WVU and Marquette

Louisville will play Cinci, Cuse and Marquette

Marquette will play Cinci, Louisville and DePaul

Georgetwon will play Nova, WVU and Notre Dame

Notre Dame will play Cuse, Nova and Georgetown

Georgetown will play Notre Dame, Nova and WVU

Nova will play Georgetown, Notre Dame and Pitt

Mark,

That would be an awesome TV schedule.

04-bow 04-bow 04-bow 04-bow

We need three TV contracts worth a combined $30 million just to cover those games.

Cheers,
Neil

They probably won't know what the conference schedule is until TV tells them--lol. Sad, but true.

Louisville is a good TV draw, especially now that Pitino has things rolling and he is going back to the Big East.

I'm thinking we'll play Cinci and Cuse, but UCONN instead of Marquette. It will be driven more by what TV wants than regionally rivalries.

I think it will be Cuse, Cincinnati and West Virginia.

UC playing Louisville and West Virginia makes sense. Cincinnati and Marquette have had some great games in the past so I guess it makes sense to schedule them, but what about UC-Pitt? Geographically and rivalry-wise it makes a whole lot of sense. UC-Connecticut makes some sense, as does UC and Syracuse, but UC-Pitt makes the most sense.

Again, I'm only guessing, but it seems to me that while TV will dictate most of the premium match-ups don't forget that the league is committed to making this hybrid monstrosity work.

Which to me means that at least one of the 1A round-robin games will be against a non-1A (or ND) member.

Therefore, I don't think we are likely to see a UL-UConn-UC-SU type scenario. And in reality, there has probably never been a better year for this to come about with Nova, ND, and the Hoyas all looking good and Marquette and DePaul bringing new markets in Milwaukee and Chicago.

Thems my thoughts, but I have been known to be wrong before.

Cheers,
Neil

-- I don't like it...but your probably right....but in the ideal world I agree with Cat's Claw...UL/UC/WVU/Pitt should have home and homes with each other every yr
