with the big boys....get some quality wins and i will give you some praise.....who have yal beat....tell me......who???????

i mean i have been watching college football since the mid seventies as a child and i know good football when i see it. yes you guys went 11-1 but who hell did yal beat....i mean West Virginia has went 11-0 twice....in those undefeated years we beat Penn St., Syracuse, Miami, Va. Tech, Pitt, Boston College.....please tell me you have a quality ranked opponent that you have beat in your 11-1 campagin.......

first off, U of L has good timing for what went down in the big east....3 years ago, i remember Marshall University putting an a$$ kick'n on yal in the GMAC bowl....so don't sit here and try to convince me that yal are some type of perennial power.

finally, as with Rutgers, Univ. of Louisville has not faired well with Div.IA and Div. IAA teams from the great state of west virginia.....as a undergraduate alumni of West Virginia Univ. , wv leads the series 5-1......as a MBA graduate of Marshall Univ., the Herd leads that series 2-0. one butt kick'n as a Div. IAA school and then MU beat you again in the GMAC Bowl..

no you guys are going to have to play the game on the field. as i said, U of L is going to see the difference in playing in the big east week in and week out. Pitt, WV, Syracuse, are going to be losses for sure...watch out for the wanting scarlet knights of the state univ. of new jersey....

First off we lead the series with Marshall 5-3 so you are wrong on that. BTW the last time we played Syracuse we beat them by double digits and that was also 2 years ago in the Carrier Dome.

Second over the past 3 years we have only 1 loss to a BCS School and that was a 3 point loss to Miami in the classic from last year. Our wins include a shutout win over a Bowl team in UNC and a win over the ACC Champs Florida State.

The problem is Big East fans have never followed UofL...why should they before now....but they keep making post based on litte or limited information. Last year a good buddy from New Jersy kept telling me about UK and how much better they were than UofL and how UofL was nothing. when I rattled off our record against them in Football and basketball over the past three or four years, he was speechless. Eastern folks just don't know about UofL cause they have never followed our program...now we come into the BEast with a lot of fanfare and they don't like it. Do I blame them....No. I wouldn't like it either if the new kid on the block got all the attention.

Actually Maize you would be wrong on that. You should know you UL Football history better than that.

UL all-time record vs Marshall is 16-11. Marshall has won the last three games 87, 98 & 02. Marshall won at UL in 87 and then the two bowls games. Before that, UL had won the previous 8 meetings. Coincidentally, Marshall also won the 1st three meetings against UL which dates back to 1921.

You can bill me for the info later Maize.

Go UAB!

yal lead the series 5-3 prove it.....yal could not beat marshall when they were D-IAA how hell yal lead the series....

you will have to point me to an unbias hyper link.....

what yal are id 7 an 1 against the mountain state teams....more of the same is coming dear boy......

i am not on this board anymore trying to convince the people the big east is viable.....i am here now solely to talk about how my unversity, wvu is better than yours.....

WEST VIRGINIA leads the series 5-1 period....

beat us if you can.....

yal have no defense at alll...your team reminds me of Div.IAA foot balll....alot of passing and no D.

can't wait to fly into west virginia from baton rouge, la this fall to see wvu kick your butts......that's going to be lovely....

west virginia only has to go 2-9 for me to be happy...beat cinci and uofl ....... both of which i hate now.......

i bet yal(uofl) wish that game was not schedule at morgantown......i heard rich rod. has posted all the magazine hype in the locker room related about U of L playing similar competion in the ConfUSA......

yea....will see....

finally, sorry to say, your coach petrino is an idiot.....his heart is not in louisville but in baton rouge la.....that's right.....he is looking for greener pastures...ask coach smith....now at mich.st.
petrino is not for u of l ...he's looking for his next big meal ticket.....

1. You stated Marshall leads the all time series and that is not the case.

2. As long as Petrino wins as long as he is at UofL I really don't care where his heart is.

3. Without us the Big East BCS Bid will be in serious jeopardy. WVU was suppose to carry the mantel last year but it took the Boys from The Ville to carry the Big East through.

4. Win a New Years Day Bowl game, at least we have done that.

Why don't we all wait and see what happens on the field before we make judgements based on dissimilar experiences in the past. Maybe Louisville WILL dominate the Big East like they did CUSA last year. Maybe WVU or Pitt will show Louisville that they aren't the new Kings of the block. But fact is no matter what history people throw out there and no one knows what will happen till the guys get on the field and get it done.

First off show the school name some respect. Rutgers is an older and far more highly regarded institution than West Virginia. Heck, we're nearly 100 years older than your state. Second off, Syracuse will not be beating UL, WVU will not be beating UL, but Pitt certainly has a chance, I look forward to that game almost as much as I look forward to the first game of our season. Also does it really make sense to heckle a school's fans who supposedly don't rank with you folks and the same goes for the Saracuse posters that call us Rutgirls. And there are two types of SU fans there are Syracuse fans who you can have constructive dialogue with and the Saracuse fans who really need a reality check.

I didn't say you guys shouldn't like it or that it wasn't one of the better derisive names in the BE, just that most of the guys who use it over and over again tend to also think that we're so far beneath you that we shouldn't be playing you or something like that. That always begs of me the question as to why bother deriding us then if we don't matter.

Bottomline: this is exactly the type of smack we need to develop and mature as a conference.

If the so called TV experts would allow this league a few years we'll be a strong member again among the BCS.

IIRC

Pizza was coined by ArchboldZak
Rutgirls was coined by RRLbees
Directional Suntan (for USF) was coined by Zak, also

I think Mr. Flynn is trying to get "Fruit" accepted

Like the Fruit or shoe (Seton Hall or SHU). Or maybe Cincinasty or my new favorite Podunk U (WVU) or Inbred U (WVU). Villanova Mildcats. etc. etc.

Is this guy becoming more keyboard challenged with every post? What's wrong, JT, are the flames from your couch impeding your ability to type? You know, most "smart" West (non-incest) Virgins toss the sofa outside before they light it.

At least learn how to spell and use proper grammar in your posts. Then if you're going to talk smack at least make sense. Papa John's is 42,000 seats and they nearly sold out for the season. I didn't ask for respect for our football team I asked for respect for the name of the school, which no offense to the normal WVU folks is far more prestigious than your podunk university could ever hope to be. If WVU is so great then why did you nearly lose to Rutgers and if I remember correctly the only reason a win was preserved was because those stupid officials miscalled the penalty on the onside kick. And Ryan Hart threw two picks along with a Hairston fumble to boot. You wanna talk coaching, Rich Rod is the biggest choke artist I've ever seen, the minute he get to the gator bowl its like he forgets how to coach considering your typical talent levels at WVU. At least Schiano is well known to be learning on the job on how to be a head coach and he had to take the #117 out of 117 teams and turn them into an average ranking of probably around 70 or so isn't half bad considering the lack of head coaching experience on his resume. Keep going though its down right comical bringing past results into the present & future, because they mean little to nothing.

at first i was not going to reply but i must...if you think for one minute that i am going to sit at this computer checking for proper grammar for this audience than you are mistaken...

obviously, u get the jist of my thoughts and that is all that i am trying to accomplish....i am not in this room to write a novel.....

man, u must be joking about almost, could have, would have won,....that's the spirit old chum....keep your chin up......close but no cigar.....blame it on the official.....i guess wv should have won the pitt game if the ref would have made the right call.....

as far as what coach schaino has done is no big deal, when you are ranked at 117 out of 117 there ain't but one way to go and that is up.....

further, if you guys, that is.....the state university of New jersey could just finish in 5th place i am sure yal would be talking national championship....

look nothing personal against you but Rutgers is just not GETTIN ER DONE.....

yal need a new coach, new players, new philosophy, just a whole dam makeover baby.....

let me correct my previous post as long as wv goes 3 and 8 i will be happy...rutgers,uofl, and cinci

Whole makeover you say look at Shea's last team and Schiano's current team talk about a whole makeover. All-americans, All-Big East selections, you name it. The foundations are in place in both facilities and communication with NJ, NY, and FL high school/prep school coaches. Schiano may not be the man to do it but he certainly was the man to get the foundation laid.
