"Though he has yet to play a minute of high school basketball, incoming Burlington Central freshman Cully Payne made a verbal commitment last Friday to play college basketball at DePaul.

Payne, a 15-year old, 5-foot-10, 154-pound shooting guard, cannot sign an official NCAA Letter of Intent until November 2008. But he was told by new DePaul coach Jerry Wainwright in a meeting last Friday the university would have a scholarship waiting for him when he graduates from Burlington Central in 2009."

Burlington is a farming community about 10 minutes from my house. It is nice to see Wainwright thinking ahead and the future of the Blue Demons.

FYI: Burlington is about 45 minutes from the Allstate Arena (Home of DePaul home games).
