RE: This week's games - who ya got?
MT v. WKU - my wild, unwarranted sun belt upset pick of the week
Akron v. FIU - not explanashun needed
NT v. FAU - We win if we don't start and play McNulty.
ULM v stAte - I like stAte's uniforms better.
CAJUNS v. Troy - not buyin the Cajuns just yet - win this one and you're winning the Belt.

I think we could win even with Osborn starting. We don't really have any reason to believe he can't get the job done. He has performed ok in the limited situations he has been in. Mcnulty on the other hand...needs some more time before he is a starter.

I picked FAU over yall, thats off of what I saw last week, but I could entirely see yall winning this game. I think that if Lance gets cranking early, and yall can control the clock on them and force them to play catch up, which even though they did to the cajuns last week, could be hard for them to do with the weapons they have on offense week in and week out. I still am taking FAU in the game, but if UNT wins, it won't be any kind of surprise to me. As for yer QB situation, they don't have to do much, handoff Dunbar right, Handoff Dunbar Left, Handoff Dunbar up the middle, and every once in a while do a playaction pass which will keep FAU honest. The bigger concern is still yer O-Line, they have not done a good job at much this year (be it pass or run blocking). We shall see.

I think this is a very interesting week in the Belt. One OOC game.
FIU has a very winnable OOC game. And I've said all along I liked their OOC schedule the best. I expect them to roll.
The rest are very interesting conference match ups.
stAte v. ULM - does stAte surge to 2-0 in conference? Can ULM afford to lose at home to stAte? stAte's offense I think is too much.
NT v. FAU - I give the edge to NT because they're at home but FAU played with a lot of pride last week and I think they'll show.
MT v. WKU - WKU played stAte tough, but I think MT grinds this one out
CAJUNS v. Troy - I'm not even going to pretend to be objective. But I think this is going to be a heck of a game. May come down to who has the ball last.

I can't really argue with that. I think our stadium is a tougher place to play then people realize though. It gets very loud even if it's not full, and we will probably have a similar crowd to the Indiana game (maybe a tad smaller). It should be a good game.
As far as our QB situation, it was an absolute debacle in Tulsa. The true freshman did not work out. I doubt we would have won if our starter had been in, but it would not have been nearly as embarassing. If we just took care of two 1st and goals inside the 5 in the first half it could have been a different game. If Thompson can go, I'm confident NT will win. If Osborn starts I'm nervous. If Mcnulty starts again like he did in Tulsa...

This is why I hate to make predictions - why prove to someone that I am an idiot when I can keep them guessing.
