Although this is odd and probably not going to happen, I think it says a lot that schools are reaching to get into our conference, actually shows that it has a stronger footing than most some of the other imploding conferences

Ain't no freaking way. They couldn't bring anything to the Belt to remotely offset the added travel.

Whew!! I thought that it got out that Anne Hathaway and Jennifer Gardner were in a cat fight over me!!!

I definitely do not want them to join the Belt, but it would be interesting to have the Spartans and Trojans in one conference. Aside from that, SAY NO TO WESTERN TEAMS!!!

Which WAC schools did the Big East take last night?

SJSU has as much chance at the SBC as Louisiana Tech does at the SEC.

I suppose you could go to 16 do a "pod" system of four groups of four. Pair two groups to make a division and change the pairings every two years. Problem is you start drawing it up and you break pairings that need to stay together

Indication that AFA is getting close to a deal with the BE? If USU is their replacement, a LOT of WAC schools will be looking to bail.

San Jose will drop to FCS or football completely before they will receive an invite to the Sun Belt.

If the WAC dissolves, there's only one school we can afford from that conference....and that's Tech. Maybe, in a few years, depending on how they grow their program, UTSA might be an appropriate fit (large metro, little competition in the area).

Other than that, it's App St. to get to 12 one of these days. But you know WW....he doesn't do anything until he is forced to.

To get to a uniform 12 members in all sports we will have to get a football only and keep UALR plus an all sports member, or find a creative way to get UALR to leave and add two all sports memebers. It may just be me, but I don't think UALR is going anywhere. Therefore I see a football only member in our future. I am not saying it is SJSU, but as football only member that has an international airport nearby travel could be worse.

FWIW I don't think a WAC merger is a good idea, unless Benson and Waters could get a really good TV deal.

I don't know how the conference monies shake out, however, if we remain stable and continue to grow the conference's football units, I doubt, if a relatively large t.v. contract comes along, the members are going to want to share those dollars with a non-producer. Right now, the dollars are marginal, however, if they continue to grow, it may become an issue.

p.s. and that's what we're all working toward.

You just pass a conference rule stating that all SBC members must sponsor football.
