Anyhow, I'm not pushing anyone, please show me where I've pushed either one of Georgia Southern or Georgia State(or anyone for that matter) I'm not even convinced we need to expand, I'm simply saying that if we are going to expand, I think it's foolish to say that neither one has a shot, both are within the existing footprint and both bring their own advantages and disadvantages to the conference.
Yes, and you've made you point numerious times in LARGE FONTS!
Because the idea of adding New Mexico State...
It's a bad move for every member of this conference.
Says you! When you look at from the teams in the western side of the Sun Belt Conference, a trip to New Mexico is the same as it is to Miami or very close. And MTSU making the same trip is no different then what you have done with Denver in the conference. No difference at all! No way do UNT, UL and Ark St go along with adding two more programs in the Eastern Time zone, especially FCS programs. Perhaps, just maybe in a last ditch effort to add several programs to the conference because of attrition I could see something like that happening. Don’t think for one minute just because you don’t believe New Mexico State helps the conference that they don’t have some support amongst a few of the college presidents. Up to this point, they haven’t shown more then a glancing interest, but that could change quickly.
But that's just it, you're adding another 1,000 mile trip and they'll be in your division. Adding schools to the east may not be ideal, but you wouldn't have a single 1,000 mile trip within your division. If we added to the to the east your division mates would be UNT, ASU, ULM, USA and Troy. How is that a bad thing? I'm actually in favor of adding one to the east and one to the west, if that was the case there would still only be three eastern time zone schools. In my detailed geographic breakdown I said the best geographic package is La Tech and Georgia State. That addition would actually shrink our footprint.
Again, taking New Mexico State's history out of the equation, your support for NMSU would be like me supporting Buffalo. That's how far out of footprint NMSU is and truth be told, Buffalo is actually closer to WKU, MT and ASU than NMSU is to you.
All of this arguing is dumb anyway, because I'm not even convinced we should be expanding, but if we're going to add anyone, New Mexico State shouldn't even be in discussion, they are just a bad candidate, they don't add much aside from thousands of miles of travel for every single member with the exception of UNT and they're still close to 700 miles from Denton.
Let's just agree to disagree on NMSU as a potential member if expansion is called for. You say NO, I say YES so we cancel out.

If we can't get into CUSA - I would rather be in the Belt and be the school that wears the BLACK HAT...
I like going to Lafayette, I like going to South Alabama for basketball, I like going to Denton, I like going to Jonesboro for basketball (especially)....
Monroe is an armpit, a hoax and still should be a juco - but I still would go support the Dawgs in all sports there

RE: Louisiana Tech
La Tech Pros:
- Established FBS program. If the Sunbelt successfully raids another FBS conference then it automatically improves the perception and prestige of the Sunbelt.
- Geographically compatible with multiple existing Sunbelt members. Will travel well to several of our programs and will instantly generate rivalries.
La Tech Cons:
- They're administration has been publically hostile and derogatory to the Sunbelt. If they didn't burn bridges then they certainly poured gasoline on them and rubbed sticks together.
- ?
In this case I really think that the pros outweigh the cons.
Should CUSA fall through for LaTech I say take them and then go after Missouri State as hard as you can to cap off at 12.

Not worth much. He proposes two NC directionals that don't play FBS football. He's just praying ECU and UCF don't leave him out on an island and recenter the conference.

Dude, nice job on achieving Tier 1 status... Bigtime. Good Job!

I would love to say thank you, but I had nothing to do with it. It does nothing but increase the states reputation.
When y'all get ranked as Tier 1 it will continue to help the state.

I can't see why mo st would leave the valley for the sbc? They don't draw well for football and I would bet they would lose money. The valley has to make more money than the sbc. It was not that long ago they were putting multiple teams in the NCAA and getting one to the sweet 16.
