when expansion is done...
will realignment really be finished?

Sort of like the WAC at 16 was not stable...what's to say any of these AQ conferences on steroids won't come apart due to some unforeseen issues between schools or conferences?

We will do this again in 2016/2017

Any one conference big enough to be two conferences will become two conferences.

That's my belief. You can't keep everyone happy and it's very easy to look for greener grass.

Aside from some of the stretches that are being made geographically and some of the rivalries that are being broken up, the road to a conference championsip and an undefeated season just got a lot harder for a lot of teams, coaches and fans.

How long will certain schools tolerate having no chance at a conference championship except once every 40 years or so?

Can you imagine the ramifications for bowls since they have contracts with conferences etc........this next year might be a real good year for the Belt to pick up a third or 4th bowl due to stability........We now have 3 or 4 teams that could make it and with the flux in conferences etc...would be a good time for (leader WW) to get a real deal with another Southern bowl.

RE: when expansion is done...
My thoughts.

Larry Scott lost his chance to expand into Oklahoma and Texas when they signed that blockbuster TV deal. The presidents are content with what they have. That probably saved the league long-term because the Oklahoma/Texas schools were never going to be happy with the travel (been there done that, it sucks), Colorado, Utah, Arizona, and Arizona State were never going to be happy with swapping Lubbock/Austin for Los Angeles in travel. Pac-12 probably bought long-term stability last night.

Hearing a lot of talk that Missouri's president may be close to brokering the Big XII saving deal if UT will sign off on it. If you look at the reported demands made by OU, several were things Texas reportedly offered to save the league. I think a deal is close if not all but done. That will keep Missouri in the Big XII. The question there is do they go to 10, 12 or larger? The simplest fix for them is to go back to 12 with the North/South split. TCU to the south, Louisville and Cincinnati to the North. That may not happen. Conflicting reports over BYU at this time. They are the best option out there but they may need to change never on Sunday to never on Sunday in regular season. The Big XII can accomodate that they cannot accomodate it in championship events. If BYU, they might stick at ten.

The SEC has stepped on a turd. TAMU is a great addition but if Mizzou goes off the table, unless you can sway Florida State, this expansion is a bust. WVU is a great program with great fans but very small population and would bring worst academic rep to the SEC.

ACC jury is out on. Do they want to take UConn and Rutgers or sit back for 20 years like the Big 10 did waiting for Notre Dame? Pitt and Syracuse help their overall TV package and BC is no longer off on an island.

Big East even if they get the 7 to stay has a problem. Finding schools the basketball schools will support. There is a reason that Navy and Air Force are being mentioned prominently in Big East discussions. They will come for football only. UCF will have to back-off prior all or nothing talk to get in the mix, ECU will take football only.

CUSA office is praying that Big XII takes TCU, Louisville, Cincy and ACC takes UConn, Rutgers leaving the door open for them to grab USF and maybe West Virginia (if SEC doesn't) with USF and Temple they actually come out a big winner. Meanwhile UCF, ECU, Memphis, Houston, SMU are all going to bed praying "Pick me, pick me" for Big East and Big XII. If they get his then they have to look our way.

MWC is actively courting TCU because with the hit to Big East, they actually have a shot at moving ahead of the Big East. Probably trying to find someway to make nice with BYU as well.
