Weather Apps
At the KU game three guys were next to us from crystal lake, one of whom owns a charter plane company. They flew in Sat Morning. One of the guys tail gates next to us in dekalb. Right before halftime they pull up a weather app that shows a pretty mean looking storm coming our way. They decide to leave and find a bar to watch the remainder of the game. It did sprinkle, but at the end of the game the moon was shining, Kind of like the army game. The Moral of this story..........

Don't bring your (expensive) smart phone to the game so you don't have to worry if it is going to rain.

My wife doesn't like getting wet, and I saw rain appeared to be on the way. King Butter pulled out his radar app, and it was clear to me that any rain would be light and shortlived ... and it was. Doppler is the best indication of what is about to come in the next couple hours IMO, but you do have to know what you're looking at.

RE: Weather Apps
Accuweather or weather.com is what they were likely looking at. I have a crappy phone and they still work well. Accuweather is a little less colorful.Weather.com makes everything look nasty with the yellow and multi shades of red, whick is likley what they looked at. And honestly, weather .com was what I looked at before the Army game and while it rained hard, made the whole area look like it was massive storms for a long time. Lessoned learned.

I have gotten off lakes a few times before storms using those apps. Also avoided a big hailstorm coming up 57 once.

Basically, if going to try or trust one, accuweather.

If its going to rain you can either ***** out or suck it up. I prefer the later. Beer helps.
