What Doeren didn't do against Kansas
His job is to put his team in the BEST position to win the game and I don't think he got the job done against Kansas. He did some great things -- I loved that he went for it on fourth down twice even though it didn't pay off once. It was still a great call. However he needed to do everything he could to make sure Harnish had a chance to win the game for us at the end.
I've said this during the game on the final drive... He needed to take BIG chances on defense on every play and if they scored quickly then Harnish would have had a chance to win the game. If the gamble paid off, maybe it would've led to a big play that would have won us the game. If the gambles failed at least Harnish would have had time to get the win.
Gill made sure Harnish didn't get that chance and that's why he and his team celebrated the win. If KU didn't convert that last fourth-down play (yeah like that would've happened based on OUR history) at least Gill put his team in the best position to win -- his offense on the field instead of his defense against Harnish (Love that guy).

So basically if our D was worse than it was we would have had a chance to win because we would have gotten the ball back quicker. Thus, its Coach Doeren's fault our D didnt give up points faster, he should have coached them to give up quicker scores. I think if you step back you will see your reasoning is a little silly.

Our offense scored too fast and our defense didn't allow TD's fast enough. Got it. This will be the gameplan for Wisky.

I was kind of hoping we'd try an onside kick after going ahead 42-38. There were still five minutes to play. I'm sure Kansas would have been surprised, and if we recover and take it in for another score, it's game over. Worst case would be Kansas recovers at our 40 and scores. As it turns out we kicked deep and Kansas literally returned it to our 40 anyways.

I hope that you have contacted DD so he has the benefit of your wisdom for this Saturday's game against Wiscy.

So some of you didn't mind at all that Harnish didn't get a chance to win the game with 2 or 3 minutes left against Kansas?
