What are SBC's bowl tie-ins?
And in what order of priority?

Is New Orleans Bowl still the #1 pick?

It switches up every year I believe. Sometimes it just depends on which teams will bring more people to either bowl game.

the tie-ins are the New Orleans Bowl and the GoDaddy.com Bowl..

GoDaddy has first pick this year. I think they get MAC champ this year as well.

Yeah, it goes by "first pick" not "champion". The champion will have a bowl, but it might not be first picked. Mobile might want Troy over FIU for example. NOB would be required to pick the conference champion (if it were't Troy).

So, GoDaddy can take who they want, and if they don't take the champion, NOLA has to take the champion. And if GoDaddy does take the champion, NOLA can take whoever.

Is that it?

It's pretty close. Think about last year. As long as the champion(s) are placed in a bowl somewhere, the NOB would not have to take the champion.

Yeah but I believe the only tie-ins we have now are NOLA and Mobile. I think our secondary tie-ins are gone now, but I could be wrong. It's rare but it happens.

Here's a funny. I went to google "sbc bowl ties" and it gave me a link to THIS thread right here. Too funny. I think we still have the secondary ties, it's just that our old standby in Detroit is now expected to be filled by a Big10 team since they added Nebraska.

The secondary ties lapsed in 2009 I believe. Not sure if they were renewed.
