On a positive note, this is great to hear. These type of things are the way to show we are more "big time" and known around the state and chicagoland area. I hope the Bulldog one turned out well too, seeing that it is right by my house and would plan on going to some over there!
Even though it was a loss we might have gained a few more fans out of it.

Hey everyone thanks for coming! We had an OUTSTANDING showing!!! The whole bar was packed, I don't think there was an empty table. And everyone in there was cheering on the Huskies.

Some guys even had chants going, was awesome.

The funny part was seeing everyone scattered around wrigleyville afterwards LOL ...

I even remember a certain "ex-kicker" if ours along side the street, wearing a Northwestern shirt, chanting the Kansas fight song at addison and clark .... class!!

But yeah, it was a really good time. Thanks for everyone that showed up. Made it really special. I gave him my flag to hang up outside the bar. He said it would be there first thing in the morning.

Oh, also ...


He said that he is going to make this a weekly thing. I will again post information as it becomes available. He said he wasn't expecting such a turnout so didn't bring in a waitress.

For future watch parties (every week) he said that there would be a waitress from now on. A lot of us live close I know, so should be a ton of fun.

Our first REAL NIU BAR IN CHICAGO!! :)

Especially since there are Iowa and Purdue and Michigan bars at every corner .. annoys the hell out of me.

Yeah I thought it was fun. Met a lot of people too, so it was nice. I'm assuming the alumni events are more of a networking experience than a football watching experience?

Also, has anyone ran past BEER this week? He said he would be hanging my flag. I haven't been there to see if it's out yet.

I had a great time as well (I had the throwback huskie t-shirt by the bar). I appreciate the goose island thing, but the loud drunk crowd thing is how god meant football to be enjoyed, i.e. every other D1 college bar in that hood. See everybody there for the next away game.

Lets keep this NIU Wrigleyville bar thing going and show up after the Wiscy game in force!
