No there really isn't and whether intentionally or not, you missed the point of his post.

For all your fascination with conference realignment, you do realize that you have zero credibility on this board right? Southern Miss to the SEC? SMU says they'd like to join the Big XII and suddenly the dominoes are falling?

Why don't you just start a blog? Or get on board with bleacher report, most of what you write is BR worthy. Just start your blog and give us the address once, don't worry about posting links every time you update, I guarantee you we'll all be checking it twice daily...03-lmfao

I was not looking for credibility on this board. It is not that serious. Conference realignment is occuring, so why not discuss the possibilities while we wait on the season to begin. The topic was about TAMU leaving SMU joining the BIG 12.

If you don't like the post, then do not comment. You do not comment. Ten years ago, if i would have said FAU and FIU would win the Sun Belt and that Troy would defeat Nebraska. You would have said, I am crazy. So let get this straight between us. I put no more credibility on your comments than any other's post.

We all have regional interest and biases. That is a fact. Therefore, do not give me any creditabiliy for just sharing some thoughts on college football matters. At the end of the day, we will be rooting for our favorite teams and the SBC.

Now do you want to discuss SMU going to the Big 12 or do you want to impress yourself by assumming you have more creditablility than me on this board?

The Big 12 has 10/9 members while the SEC has 12 and on top of college football. The SEC has a championship game that brings more money and exposure to the conference. The Big 12 wants its championship game back for the national exposure. SMU was a former conference mate for Texas, TAMU and TTech.

SMU has a ton of money and supporters that out way anything that MT can offer the SEC. Plus why would Tenn and Vandy let MT into the conference over Memphis?

The SBC series record between Troy and ULM is 3-3. The home team has won every time. Arkansas State is the only other SBC team to have as many conference wins on Troy as ULM does but that last win came in 2006. Troy leads ASU in the conference series 4-3, winning four straight.

In reality we have a good football program that is on the rise and will contend for the SBC Championship this year, a President that is pushing athletics and improving facilities, and we have been a good competitive member of the SBC, especially in the money sport, football. We may have a small athletic budget, but we do a lot with a little and are about to start a BIG fundraising campaign which is long overdue. SBC football would not exist had ULM not agreed to be a football only member and I don't see us being kicked out in any merger.

Big 12 will probably invite SMU and Rice to put pressure on TAMU to remain with Big 12 instead of going to the SEC.

4. CUSA probably invites UNT.

So the question was if ECU leaves will this make it go at a CUSA - SBC merger.?

I agree!!! Its Crazy to take 2 FCS schools ahead of WKy and ULM...

Don't apologize to us, hell don't even apologize to FloridaJag, the guy has literally no concept for realistic conference expansion, last week he had you guys in the 16 team SEC, and with all due respect, I'd say the chances of Southern Miss ending up in the Sun Belt are dramatically greater than the chances of Southern Miss ending up in the SEC.

Hey, check this out.

USF coach Skip Holtz says UCF is prime candidate for expanded 12-team Big East

People all over the country use different Sun Belt schools as "laughing points" and they'll just throw out some random team in the conference with no real idea how they actually did the year before, if they were going to pick on a Sun Belt team, with all due respect to FIU and the season they had last year, MT is probably the next to last team someone should use to support their Sun Belt bashing.

In regards to Holtz saying UCF is a candidate for the Big East, is that supposed to suggest that Ole Miss/Miss State would be okay with USM or Tennessee/Vandy would be okay with Memphis?

I'm sorry, but you're continuing to show how completely out of touch you are with conference realignment. The Big East to the SEC, it's apples and oranges friend. The SEC is king and can afford to protect their existing members. FSU could win five straight national championships, and if the Gators said no to FSU, they'd look elsewhere. The SEC can literally take any school even remotely near their footprint with the exception of Texas and probably Oklahoma. The Big East on the other hand, cannot afford to pass on a candidate as good as UCF simply because it might inconvenience one member. The SEC doesn't need to expand and they have their pick of the litter so to speak, the Big East needs to expand and they need to take the best programs they can get.
