This is a short term deal Boomer. aTm will get the invite, but it must first come up with an exit strategy from the Big 12. That way the SEC doesn't look like the true a$$holes they really are.

Guess they could not shake lose the right #14 on short notice.

A&Ms flirtation with the SEC just goes to show that the driving force for future realignment is the "hate and envy" fans and administrators have for their conference mates. More hate in the SEC than any other conference so when and if A&M makes the move they shoulds be right at home in that hell hole.

Attention! It's not over yet, folks. Both the SEC and aTM are covering their tracks for now because of legal purposes. By this time next week the lid will be blown and the fun starts all over again. Enjoy the ride. BTW, watch this thing unfold on ESPN.

No its not over. The SEC is giving the Big 12 and TAMU a chance to kiss and make-up, they are giving their TV partners a chance to make the numbers work for the SEC, they are giving themselves a chance to determine if they want to expand, if 14 is the number, if it is the number, figure out who 14 is (almost assuredly Mizzou), determine if they like the consequences of that (it would mean going to 9 league games and probably shifting Bama-Auburn to the East with UK going west or throwing geography out the window and shipping OM and MSU to the East with UK heading west).

you may not like the SEC, and I understand there are alot of teams to hate there. But they have pretty much dominated the sport of college football for the past decade, and they still manage to share money equally

In fact if there is a league that you want to model your conference after its the SEC... and I say this fully aware of all the NCAA fun its teams get into...
