Most likely, although it seems those jobs have been available and he hasnt got the nod.

While unlikely, I do think there is a chance he could come to FAU. He needs to rebuild that image, and he is a S. Florida guy. Plus the ties to our AD (college roommates I believe).

At its heart College football is a Good Ole Boys network, and its often about who you know rather than what you know. Interesting times for FAU to be sure.

I sure as hell hope they don't get him. He will beat the pants off of any current Sunbelt coach on the recruiting trail and on the field. The dude is a mad scientist when it comes to offense.

While I agree that Leach would be a huge get for FAU, I think you overstate his abilities a tad.

Please explain how I overstated his abilities. This is all he did at Texas Tech, not one of the big boys of the Big 12. He also made Hal Mumme look like a great coach. Made Tim Couch look like a can't miss QB as well as Jayson Huypel(sp?). He is 5x's better than anyone we have in the Belt.

Texas Tech

10 consecutive winning seasons
8 consecutive seasons with at least 8 wins
4 seasons with at least 9 wins[61]
1 season with 11 wins
9 consecutive bowl appearances[62]
5 bowl wins (most by any individual coach in the history of the program)[62]
4 seasons completed with team ranked in the Top 25[63]
19–11 record against in-state conference rivals Baylor, Texas, and Texas A&M
53–11 record at Jones AT&T Stadium, home of the Texas Tech Red Raider football team
2008 AP Big 12 Coach of the Year[30]
2008 Big 12 Coach of the Year[31]
More than 150 NCAA, Big 12 and school records broken as Texas Tech's head

Not saying he doesn't bring a lot to the table, but I just don't think it's a forgone conclusion that he could come into the conference and turn it on it's ear.
