Let's hope UNT does well (outside of ASU of course) and attendance is positive. Otherwise, that will be quickly known as Apathy Stadium.

$20,000,000 over 20 years is a great deal for North Texas. As a huge Mean Green fan, I have never seen a time when our program was more motivated and positioned to be successful. For years we have been labeled a sleeping giant. Now, it appears North Texas is laying the foundation to become an athletic power.

just to be clear unT is not getting more money than Texas Tech

unT fans seem to have an awful time telling the truth and a terrible habit of exaggerating anything and everything positive that happens for them

TTU got 25 million (that is 5 million more than 20 million for those that went to unT although unT does have a good math department filled with professors that mostly speak English or pretty good Engrish)

and TTU got theirs in 2000 which is 11 years ago and 2 QEs ago as well so those 2000 dollars were worth a ton more back then and TTU got theirs right up front

TTU has also received other large donations from ATT for the academic side as well and money to change the name from SBC to ATT when the stadium was remodeled

so while this is a nice donation the hype as usual does not meet the reality when it comes to unT fans

it should pay off nicely in the new D1-AA or whatever it is called when 80 teams leave 40+ teams behind for five 16 team super conferences (if that happens and it is a big if)

otherwise 100% of the 20 million is going to pay for the privately funded half of the stadium so it will not go to improving the program it will only prevent other program funds from being further tied up towards the stadium while it is paid off and private money is raised

I am 3/4 chub daily, even at work always with the stadium on my mind.

The $20 million deal for Apogee Stadium is the second-largest naming-rights agreement for college football stadiums to date.

You might want to do a little more research. Seems like you have the issue telling the truth. Tech's deal was $20 million not $25M

The deal runs for is $20m for 25 years, whereas UNT's deal is $20m for 20 years.

That's an incredible deal. Congrats on getting all that money! Wow!
