Bus to SF game $20 round trip per person
I am not sure if this is only HASF donors so give them a call if interested. Hopefully this will get some more of you DeKalb folk who don't want to deal with the traffic to come to the game anyways!

Here is the information I received...

As the football season quickly approaches, we wanted to make you aware that we will be offering a bus trip to the NIU vs. Wisconsin football game. I have attached a registration form that includes the itinerary and have also listed it below. The trip only includes transportation to and from Soldier Field. It does not include snacks, drinks, or a game ticket.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call the HASF Office at 815-753-1923.

Huskie Soldier Field Bus Itinerary
9:30 AM Bus departs from DeKalb
Meet at the Convocation Center in lot C3.

11:30 AM Arrive at Soldier Field

2:30 PM Kick-Off - BEAT WISCONSIN!!

6:30 PM Bus leaves from Soldier Field (estimated time)
Immediately following end of game

8:00 PM Arrive back in DeKalb

What are the rates for the HMM bus? A little comparison shopping might be in order.

DeKALB, Ill. - Northern Illinois Athletics is offering Huskie fans attending the Soldier Field Showdown II game versus Wisconsin on Saturday, Sept. 17 the opportunity to ride to the game for just $20 round trip.

Northern Illinois will provide bus transportation from Lot C3 of the NIU Convocation Center to Soldier Field and back for the low price in order to help as many NIU fans as possible attend the game.

The bus will depart from DeKalb at 9:30 a.m. with a projected arrival time of 11:30 a.m. at Soldier Field, in plenty of time for fans to meet up with friends and tailgate, or attend the NIU Alumni Association official pregame function. After the game, which kicks off at 2:30 p.m., fans will re-board the buses for the trip back to DeKalb with arrival at the Convocation Center at approximately 8 p.m.

This bus trip is sponsored by the Huskie Athletic Support Fund. Information on bus transportation for NIU students, which will be organized by the Student Association, will be available at a later date.

Fans who ride the bus must have a ticket to the game and the cost of the bus trip includes transportation only. To sign up for the bus, click here to download the form, and return with payment to the HASF Office in the NIU Convocation Center via mail (HASF, Convocation Center 213, 1525 W. Lincoln Highway, DeKalb, IL 60115) or fax (815-753-7700).

I heard from a student athlete that the buses were already filled up. However idk if there is a different "student" bus along with the "fan bus." I'm taking the train and walking. Cheaper and better Chicago experience.

I wish they'd been making a stop in the suburbs. I would have gone for that then.

I suggested that to them and they said that they expected to fill up the buses with NIU students and DeKalb area people.

Seems like they had limited funds or buses to make this happen.

I know I rented an NIU bus for an outing while a student and the bill was around $400 going to Byron and back. Even with 42-46 people on it that is less than $10 per person so I don't get how charging $20ea you can't at least break even???
