Not sure what world you think I live in but if the story is true, then obviously he should be the one on the floor. I am just not sure that she needed to kill him. Render him harmless and call the cops.

I don't like to see people killed. If that is protecting someone, then I guess I am protecting someone. I don't like for people to have abortions but I think it is their decision to make. Not yours or the governments(thought you guys were for less government?). I just hope that they can be limited by the use of better contrception(or abstinance) and alternatives such as adoption or if prepared enough, take care of the child.

Rob probably thinks that she reloaded between each shot after pulling out her powder horn and ram rod and had time to reassess the situation between each shot.
Less than six seconds to discharge what I counted as at least 16 rounds. This is an individual who almost certainly never discharged her weapon under stress. Odds are she just started pulling the trigger and aiming for mass till it stopped advancing (like most people would probably do the first time around). Hell, there are stories of insurgents continuing to advance on US soldiers after 4+ rounds from their M4s. This is not that hard of a situation to understand.

So if this woman had killed a completely innocent baby who had never harmed or threatened anyone, it would be her decision to make, none of your business, and you'd be A OK with it. She protects herself from a criminal who breaks into her home and you throw a fit.
In summary, to paraphrase RobertN:
Kill an innocent child: eh
Kill a criminal threat: now I'm pissed
