Economy adds 117,000 new jobs
If we can get around 200,000 new jobs from now until November 2012 the president just might stand a chance

Maybe. But, why is that important?

17,000 of those "new" jobs are Minnesota state government workers going back to work. Hardly "new" jobs.

Yes but by Congressional maths that's actually a job cut of 1,875,000,000,000.

If only Barry could get the large companies planning massive layoffs to hold off till after the election he might have a chance. If Barry could get Stimulus part deux passed and give every US household a $10,000 check he might have a chance. If Barry could pardon all 13million illegals so they could vote he might have a chance. If Barry could raise $2billion for his campaign instead of the projected $1billion he might have a chance. 05-stirthepot

Something to keep in mind. The labor participation rates have been dropping. When this happens, the unemployment rate will drop because out of work adults are pulling out of the labor force. Only out of work people who are currently looking for jobs are counted in the unemployment figures. Keep that in mind.

Now why did you go and bring Obama's base into this? Let them watch their Springer and Oprah in peace when they decide to crawl out of bed.

For some perspective, only 58.2% of the eligible population is working. Lowest since 1983.

It's been a tough few months and I'm just looking for good news on the employment front. I understand you guys enjoy the gloom and doom so I'll try to be more pessimistic on my next post.

Don't enjoy gloom and doom, just lived through Mr. Jimmy's one term and I know the liberal economic policy didn't work then and they won't work now. Gubment doesn't create wealth only redistributes it. Gubment doesn't create jobs it creates dependencies.

Speaking of dependencies, 45.8 million people on food stamps in May. But alas, i.e. Roberta's dependencies stem from his stupidity. He will complain about his situation and denies he has anything to do with it.

I don't think anyone on here is ecstatic over the economy. It has more to do with the idea that people don't like to be lied to. When you dig deeper into the numbers, you realize that this job gain and drop in unemployment is not real. What makes it even more frustrating is that there is a mass media like the NYT, ABC, NBC, CBS, MSNBC, etc who are all too willing to help the gov't spin these numbers to make the poor unsuspecting people like yourself believe something that isn't real.

Check this out for some clarity: http://www.cnbc.com/id/44033486

Salaries from government jobs still pay for **** at your local ford dealership and HEB. We have a demand crisis. I'm getting to the point where I dont care where that demand comes from.
