48 Days to Go
Outside your normal players, what new names are you looking forward to hearing this season for your team:

Limit to three.

For ASU:

1) RB Frankie Jackson. Academically eligible this season. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uQZvSn6cuP4

2) WR Josh Jarboe. Troy fans will disagree. I want to see him do something special to redeem himself.

3) NG Ryan Carrethers. New name on our DL. Should accumulate some decent numbers.

I'd say #3 would be the entire OL. But if they are getting their names called, it is a bad thing for our offense.

Defense: SF Brendyn Trawick, SF Angelo Hadley, CB David Whitmore, DE Xavian Evans, DT Tony Gilespie, DT Jeremy Elder, and DT Sidel Corley.

The first five are transfers or JUCO's ready to play this year that have very big reputations. The last two are SEC transfers (LSU and BAMA) that were here last year and are looking to make some noise this year.

Offense: OL Demarkus Underwood, WR Corey Johnson, WR Eric Thomas, WR Brett Moncreif, and RB Montrell Conner.

Corey Johnson was my favorite player to watch in spring ball. The kid is flat out electrifying. Eric Thomas is a tall guy that has made good plays for us. Moncreif is a Tebairus Gill type player and will do very well in the system, and Conner was Miss State's #1 recruit a few years ago, a four star running back that wieghs around 215, 6'2" and runs a "reported" 4.4 (save me the sermon on reported times, please). Scout and Rivals reported offers from Mississippi State, Alabama, Florida, Oklahoma, Oregon, Tennessee, TCU and Southern Miss out of high school.

EDIT: Did not see the three name limit. My bad. I'll go with Brendyn Trawick, Corey Johnson, and David Whitmore.

RE: 48 Days to Go
For ULM:

Tyler Cain, WR - He will probably be our next Luther Ambrose as far as speed is concerned.

Mitchell Bailey, FB - Transfer from Arkansas. He's big, strong, good hands, and the fastest player on the team behind Ambrose and Cain. Would have been the starting FB for the Hogs last year but he'll probably be our third RB behind Donald and Edwards.

R. J. Young, LB - Transfer from Arizona. Started one game (appeared in all 13) for the Wildcats last year (he's graduated since and is eligible to play for ULM immediately with two years left). He got a journalism degree from UA in three years and I think is going after a communications degree at ULM.

We'll most likely red-shirt the rest of the 2011 class since we have so many starters and back-ups returning but these are the first-year names that should get the most notice this season.

RE: 48 Days to Go
1) Tony Gillespie - DT - a 300 lb'er
2) Hakeem Haynie - WR -was very consistent in the spring
3) Brynden Trawick - S -picked off CR in the spring game

There are more, but I'll respect the 3-name limit...

I harbor no ill-will towards JJ...he just couldn't seem to get his act together. My biggest desire is for him to wear #5 and we'll see which team has the best #5...From watching the T-Day game, I'd have to say, we do...03-shhhh

Could very well end up #5. We don't have one on offense at the moment. He was #7, but we have a receiver named Julian Jones (whom I wish was Julio Jones) who has that number.

Though on defense, Don Jones is a guy you all should watch out for.
