2011 What's A Good Season?
I think 5-7 would be a big jump up for EMU. It would be the best record since 1995. EMU's road schedule is exceptionally tough:@Michigan,@ Penn State,@Toledo,@CMU,@Kent State,@NIU. It has to be the MAC's most difficult traveling slate. Best chance for a road victory seems to be @Kent State. Kent's a late season game, with EMU getting a chance to gel over the season. Best chances for wins are in Rynearson against: Howard, Alabama State, Akron, Ball State, and Buffalo. A home victory over WMU would make it a huge year for the Eagles.

Last year EMU won ZERO games at home.

This year a SLIM chance of going 6 - 0 (and going 0 - 6 on the road).

OOC games vs. UofM and PSU are sure losses, but two I-AA games balances the scale on OOC games.

5-7 would be fantastic. while we're all in love with the direction of the team, we need to remember that we've won 2 games over the past two seasons, and last year we gave up more than 40pts eight times. that's a lot of crummy football. it's going to take awhile to turn that around.

I agree, Aaron, but look at my Newcomers thread.

We could see 30 new players who could see PT this season.

This suggests, to me, that this is the year for a big spurt in talent on the field.

Suggests that the starters at many positions will be better and their depth too will be better.

Year Three will be the year!

5-7 would be a good season. But i think this year Eastern gets in contention. Hopefully a 7-5 record is in the cards!

If I was a betting man, (which I am). I would go with a 7-5 record. This may be a big year for us here. Everyone should be battiling for playing time and this alone will make them a team better.

The first four games will be meaningless in terms of measuring the team's improvement. I would say to show improvement over last season we need to have more than 2 MAC wins.

I agree. But but I think the Alabama St is the telling game anything less than a 20 win should be considered a loss.
