Pigskin Press - 10 Games I'd Like To See
Louisiana Tech vs. Troy
-For some unusual reason, Louisiana Tech has felt they’re “too good” to take on Sun Belt competition. As a matter of fact, LT has two SBC teams in their state and has not bothered to take on either team since 2004. The good news is that LT has now scheduled a home-and-home with the Cajuns starting in 2014, but let’s take it a step further. We’d like to see the Bulldogs take on the bellwether of the SBC in the Troy Trojans. A loss by the Bulldogs might open their eyes to joining a much improved SBC, which geographically would make sense, instead of waiting for that invitation from C-USA that’s probably not going to happen. A win would make it evident that they’ve made their case and can hold out for whatever it is they’re looking for. Unfortunately, UAB would have to be bumped again to make this happen with Troy’s open date on the 1st.

Iowa State at North Texas
If you follow Big 12/Big 8 football, you know how bad Iowa State has traditionally been. Fortunately, the Cyclones did something right when they hired Dan McCarney in 1995. McCarney turned around a really bad ISU program and landed them in five bowl games over the course of 12 seasons. McCarney won with very little talent in a very tough conference. In 2006, the Cyclones parted ways with McCarney, and fortunately North Texas has brought him in to revive their once dominant SBC team. While McCarney will need a year or two to get his guys in place, this would be a fun matchup! Of course there is the I-told-you-so storyline, the tale of a redeemed coach if you will, but this could be one of those night games in Denton with a packed house on hand at a beautiful nearly-new facility. Both teams have a potentially open date!

got to agree, Tech needs to come to Troy and prove they are too good for the Sun Belt. If they can come inside the Walls and punk us, I would be willing to see their current side to things.

I'd like to see them run a conference slate and then see how they fare overall.
