Yes I was at that game, I believe that was the match where your Owls injured Omar Haugabook's knee. The next year yall took out Jamie Hampton in the same fashion.

I'll keep saying it over and over but you guys just cant let it go.

Stop running the spread and putting your QB in positions of getting hurt. I hate that offense for that reason. Very often your field general gets whacked in some way and winds up out of action.

You guys STILL act like FAU had a picture of your QB's knees up on the bulletin board and there was a mandate to disable them on purpose. 01-wingedeagle

I guess Lawrence Taylor meant to injure Joe Thiesman also? It's football and players get hurt especially QB's who are traditonally injury prone. Move along, nothing to see here.

I'll give you the benefit of the doubt on the injuries. But it would be futile to stop running the spread. It works. As far as putting our QB in a position to get hurt, that's only a big deal when the QB runs a lot, and it's been since 2008 since we've had one of those, or an injury at the QB spot. I just think Jamie Hampton's prone to injury. He got hurt at middle last season as well.

Corey Robinson is a pure pocket passer, it is unlikely he will get injured running.

RE: Is Troy the most hated team in the Sun Belt?
I want to beat Troy but a good down in the bones hate just doesn't exist.

UNT's run drove me bats but I was regular at GMG and the constant whining about joining CUSA or the WAC was annoying enough without having to consider just how dreadful UNT was in non-conference in that span. UNT put it to us in 2001 which didn't bother me because Hollis had left his seniors in the year before to let some of the seniors have a crack at setting career and season records and the process stuck it UNT. When the grenade celebration appeared I developed a strong distaste for Dickey and UNT has paid major karma points for his tenure.

Always liked the fans but I like most any fan base that is generous with beer.

Troy's run has been different. First Troy has made it through unscathed only once had to split the title three times. That just doesn't impact you the same way as it does when a team wins that many consecutive games in league play. I'm not a regular on the Troy board but generally my observation has been that Troy fans pretty well understand that neither UAB or USM is going to be in any rush to add them and know that CUSA tends to value large metro areas much more than they value good football.

Troy knows its fate is tied to the Sun Belt. They hit their spot in 2006 and have improved at roughly the same pace as the league. Troy not being content to play at the level that won in 2006 is a huge testament to Blakeney

While myself, and 99% of the country, believe that was not a touchdown, it was the other 59:59 that lost the game for us. If we had played better the rest of the game, this touchdown would not have mattered.

I just know that my team has never lost a game. It was just the referees or something that caused them to not have as many points at that designated end of time thing. Not like they wouldn't have scored 100 points if they just had another 5 minutes. I know I am right about that. (yeah, sure)

I'm sure Troy is the most disliked team but I think that goes for most teams that are at the top of there conference. Like someone mentioned earlier, not too long ago it was North Texas. I don't know if it was just me but I hated Idaho when they were in the Sun Belt. Maybe it's because they reminded me of Vanderbilt.

RE: Is Troy the most hated team in the Sun Belt?
I really don't like the non-football schools. And I know that includes UALR, but I'll defend it.

ASU and UALR would play annually at Alltel Arena before the Jack Stephens Center was opened. Now we play there. While I'm sure UALR loves the high attendance, it used to be much better at Alltel because of its central proximity to the downtown scene and ability to attract your average Joe sports fan. Now, it's more of a tepid rivalry.

In addition, their fans do not travel. ASU fans show up in droves to ASU-UALR games, but UALR doesn't reciprocate. Sure there's a proximity issue in that ASU fans live in LR, but more Jonesboro natives travel for the game in LR than UALR fans travel to Jonesboro. To be honest, I'd rather have UCA develop the support and infrastructure for FBS and move up.

Denver is a cool town, but offers very little to the conference except for higher travel costs and the novelty of being able to talk about hockey or skiing in a sports context.

Idaho, Utah St., NMSU, Denver, etc. Good riddance. Just like buying produce, I prefer local sources for my sports.

I would have to say so, but it all comes with being successful. Fans don't hate on bad teams (for the most part). In the early 2000's it was UNT.

MTSU and WKU always gets a few votes.

I don't have a problem with Troy. I respect what they have done in the Sun Belt. I don't really dislike any of the Sun Belt teams. Troy does catch most of the flack, but that's because of their success.

I have never hated Troy in the least bit. Maybe it's because ASU has at least always played them pretty well and they never seemed to show out like UNT did during their run.

I enjoy playing ASU. I'm originally from Arkansas and have family there so it would be nice if they ever decided to take the Sound of the South to Jonesboro. I'd love to have my Arkansas relatives come to the game.

I know they've brought the full band before because there were a million of them filing in the endzone.

Yes, back in 07. I started at Troy in 08. The Sound of the South has 300-350 members from year to year. 04-cheers
