MBB: MT getting an early start
dnj article, excerpt:
Quote:...The MTSU men's basketball team will play in a four-game exhibition in Canada Aug. 16-19, about three months before the start of the regular season.
The NCAA allows basketball teams to take one offseason foreign trip every four years. MTSU went to Canada six years ago with a four-game Toronto trip. This time the team will travel to Calgary.
"We got a lot out of that trip, and it just seemed like a really good time to do it again," coach Kermit Davis said. "We'll get some great evaluations and film on our guys. With six returning guys, two (Division I) transfers and five new guys, it just seemed like the perfect time for it."
MTSU will play Canadian college teams in four games over three days. The Blue Raiders will face University of Calgary Aug. 16, University of Alberta Aug. 17 and both Mount Royal College and University of Alberta on Aug. 18...

That is good news. Good luck, and I hope MTSU plays well. I wish more of our schools could play in events like this.
