RE: Poll: Who has The Best OC Home Schedule ?
ASU has the best for attendance purposes. One is an in-state opponent and the other is a cross-town rival. Both games are in September.

However, I went with MTSU because one is a premiere ACC program and the other is an in-state opponent as well.

Both ASU games will sell-out or come close and the UCA game is going to have less overhead than the GA Tech game for ASU's athletic department.

Mo' money, mo' money, mo.

Find it interesting that this MUTS school is playing the same schools as Middle Tennessee...

Almost as interesting as someone singling out one school with a worn out, never was clever or funny, nickname, while using the rest of the conferences actual names.

As much as I wanted to vote for North Texas, I had to give the edge to MTSU. Georgia Tech is the best program visiting a Sun Belt stadium this season. I look forward to the day when every Sun Belt team can schedule programs of Georgia Tech's caliber to play road games in their stadiums every season.

I do believe the Mean Green are close behind in second. Houston is a solid C-USA program, and although Indiana is a bad Big 10 program, they are still a Big 10 program playing a road game in the Sun Belt.

I think the best for attendance purposes is probably 1a-ASU and 1b-MT.

The last time we hosted Memphis all we did was set our all time single game attendance record. Granted it was our blackout game, the first time Memphis had come to Murfreesboro in over 50 years and our home opener to boot. There's a pretty decent chance we'll be 0-3 when Memphis comes to town and even still, with it being an instate team and our homecoming I can't imagine us drawing less than 24,000 for that game, if we can win a game or two our of our first three Memphis will draw 25k plus.

Atlanta is about 220 miles from Murfreesboro, I cannot think of another AQ school to visit a Sun Belt stadium with that short of a trip. It's our home opener and our centennial celebration weekend, it's Georgia Tech's second game(after opening up at home against FCS Western Carolina) and their closest road game by over 200 miles. I think the best attended game in the entire conference this season will be a toss up between Memphis at ASU and Georgia Tech at MT(with a chance for Houston at UNT as well opening their beautiful new stadium against an instate CUSA school). Either way, when you average the attendance of ASU's two OOC home games and MT's two OOC home games, I'll be surprised if there's a difference of more than a few thousand.

RE: Poll: Who has The Best OC Home Schedule ?
Well of our two home games UCF will definately be a sell-out and if we're still playing well by the time Duke comes in we should pull around 20,000 for that as well.

Then we host Troy (who are beginning to become recognized around these parts) and we host FAU. Also, UNT at home will be a big draw given first game excitement. So I see a big season coming up for FIU at home with 5 interesting games (not that ULL is not interesting).

I think we're going to break attendance records this year.

03-melodramatic

it's obviously between NT & MT, I think the edge goes to MT with GT coming to town.

I'd rank the best home OOC's like this:

1.) MTSU - Memphis (in-state bragging rights game); Ga. Tech (nice opponent, would be a program changing win).

2.) FIU - UCF (in-state bragging rights game; maybe top-25 when game is played); Duke (big name program, will create a buzz)

3.) UNT - Houston (in-state bragging rights game); Indiana (occasionally has a good program, not much buzz factor).

4.) WKU - Navy (service academy game...nice).

No one else on the radar.

UCF is on a roll, I'll give you that, but they are still CUSA, as for duke, any given saturday half of the SBC could possibly beat them, big name yes, just wrong sport!

Sooo, it sounds like you agree with me? (as Memphis and Houston are also C-USA schools and UCF is much better than both of those two).

Then I would rank the ACC/Big10 opponents thusly: Ga. Tech, Duke, then Indiana. Not much arguement there either. FIU has the best non-AQ coming to town and MTSU has the best AQ coming to town...advantage MTSU. UNT a respectable third.

i agree with you on all points.. FIU will probably beat out their attendence record this season with what looks to be a very interesting home schedule... however, there is one thing that you may not have considered about UCF sell out crowd... unfortunately it falls on the same day as UM playing Ohio St up at Dolphin stadium (pro player, joe robbie etc.) ..... so the casual FIU fan (not the die hard) may be inclined to attened that game due to the ability to stick it to a downed OSU team. me personally i hope they occur at different times to attend both because both will be good games

That's your opinion. ASU has two they should win giving us a leg up going into conference play. We have two that should sell out. One is against our oldest rival and the other against an in state team that iwll be televised. Both will sell out the stadium.

If that isn't on the radar then your radar is broken.

At MT we've learned the hard way not to count on sell outs in June, getting one in a season would be great, but getting two in one season....I'll believe it when I see it.

ASU-Memphis in 2003 was over the 30k mark in tickets sold.
ASU-Memphis in 2007 had a slight problem. Over 25k showed up during a game that expected rain delays. Lightning would not leave the area and so the game was rescheduled. Over 25k still showed for a midweek game.

ASU-UCA last played in the late 90's to crowd of over 29k. This will be the first match-up of an in-state FBS and FCS program...ever.

Add to it a new coach, the fact that both games are in September, and already record-setting season ticket sales and I don't think expecting two sell-outs is unreasonable.

FIUFan is just unfamiliar with the regional significance of these games.
