RE: CBO: Stimulus almost doubled U.S. debt
It is in the first line of the article that you apparently didn't read.

Quote:A new report from the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) finds that President Obama’s economic stimulus program helped nearly double U.S. debt.

You think you are "schooling right wing morons" but you are only making yourself look idiotic.

I read it. Just go look up the numbers and tell me the US federal debt prior to the stimulus and today. According to you, it should have nearly doubled. So go see.

So you don't believe the article is correct? You won't back it or act as though it is true? I guess you aren't a complete idiot. SumOfAllStupidity doesn't have an out since he posted it.

Ugh. Go read the article. It is an editorial that reviews the CBO's findings in a recent report. Here's the part of the article that is addressed in the headline.

Quote:According to CBO projections, before Obama’s stimulus became law, federal debt equaled 36 percent of GDP and was projected to decline slightly over the next few years. Instead, thanks in large part to the stimulus, debt reached 62 percent of GDP by 2010.

36% to 62% isn't "doubling" but IMO it is "almost doubling" like the headline says. However the article goes on to say: "Debt will reach 70 percent of GDP by the end of this year". 70% is even closer to "almost doubling" the % of GDP.

Please seek out a reading comprehension course at your local community center. It will make things VASTLY easier on us here in the Spin Room if you learn how to understand what you're reading.

I've read the article. It's clearly wrong. And it's hilarious that you rubes can't see why even after I have twice pointed to the solution for you.

Whether or not the debt has doubled is not a matter of opinion, SumOfAllStupidity. Just trot on over to google and look up federal debt figures and see if the headline and article are accurate. It's easy to do (if you're not a complete idiot).

No. I think we understood what you were trying to prove. It just failed to achieve the results you were hoping for.

Let me try and help you out here since your one brain cell just died. Ok, the headline says the debt doubled. No. THe debt did not double. THe debt to GDP ratio may have almost doubled but the debt certainly did not. THere is a BIG difference(neither is good but a difference nonetheless). The title is spin to get the reaction it recieved from you morons.
