That salute was slightly different than the roman and Nazi salutes. Every so slightly. Your hand was to point to the flag, so the angle varied. Nazi or Hitler salutes were with the arm raised to eye level. The roman salute was straight out.

Don't ask why I know all that and more about it....

The girl scouts used it up until 1935, I believe. And some Zionist nationalists groups used it as well.

Yeah! I say burn all the flags right ******* now!

For something this ridiculous, you sure seem a bit worked up about it. But that's the libtard way, to divert attention from the real issues.

Yep...once again you read me like a book!

Sorry, I don't much appreciate someone who doesn't even know me questioning my patriotism because of a post about a meaningless golf tournament played by a bunch of rich people that he totally misunderstood.

And again...real issues? It's a ******* golf tournament broadcast by a corporation. Who the **** cares how they choose to present it?

It's not the tournament, it's the Pledge. Does it really matter where someone screws it up?

Wrong again. I am from Ohio. I work in Michigan. Although I will be moving to Michigan in July.

RE: NBC dumps 'under God' from Pledge at U.S. Open
Allegiance requires an obligation from the one you choose to align with. In this case that would be protection. The government has no obligation to protect you and can not be held accountable for that failure. If so...one could seek damages in court if you are harmed. You can't. The government has sovereign immunity.

I personally have no real problem with the Pledge. I participate in it when I needed...but...I have no real allegiance with any entity other than my family unit. The pledge is simply "feel good" government indoctrination. It holds not real value otherwise. My advise to those that are ardent supporters or ardent detractors of the pledge is the same...F'ng relax already.

The gov't is required to give you equal protection under the law. If it doesn't, and you can prove it, you are entitled to compensation. Now, you want to put down the crack pipe and step away from the keyboard.

Equally zero protection. It is under no obligation to protect me. Keep on preaching the party line comrade.03-lmfao

The SCOTUS has upheld more than once that the police and government is not obligated to protect us....Deshaney v. Winnegago Cty.Soc.Serv.Dept and Pinder vs. Johnson are just 2 examples of this. So there..tough guy.

So you are saying that you would prefer the police act pre-eminently to protect people? Yes? comrade.

And back we go to the topic...There is a expectation of protection if one pledges their allegiance. That is simply not true in the US....The SCOTUS says so. Argue with them...not me.04-cheers

I still have no problem with the pledge anyway. It is not a big deal to me.
