I don't bash. Ever. I don't condone violence in that context. Look up Sea. Kennedy. I knew him. If you truly believe what the Bible says, his murder, while tragic, was justified by his assailant. Based on nothing more than a few words, and his genetic disposition. Neither of which he could help. I've been on the receiving end of someone's misguided religious fury at me for something as natural as my skin colour. The most telling part, the guy who accosted me, waits till I turned my back and was leaving to strike me. How very Christian.

Bull, I respect you for your faith and convictions, you know that. So, would you accept a civil union for all premise? What about adoption? Am I able to be a foster parent and adopt kids? How about my partner(if I ever find him!)? Can we be recognized as a safe and loving family like yours in the eyes of man's law?

CRH,

I have said on this thread that the fed should have nothing to do with marriage and I am fine with civil unions... That does not make it OK with God...

LOL!!!!! Wow you have just demonstrated enough ignorance of basic Christian theology to warrant cutting this conversation off. It's like arguing with a seven year old who knows a few bible verses...

1) There is an unforgivable sin: Blaspheming the holy spirit (and that is in the words of Christ himself in the gospels and is reinforced (twice) in Hebrews

Hebrews 6:4-6 - 4 It is impossible for those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, who have shared in the Holy Spirit, 5 who have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the coming age 6 and who have fallen[a] away, to be brought back to repentance. To their loss they are crucifying the Son of God all over again and subjecting him to public disgrace.

Also in Hebrews: (Heb 2:14-17)

For surely it is not angels that he helps, but he helps the offspring of Abraham. Therefore he had to be made like his brothers in every respect, so that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest in the service of God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people.

===

No...actually you just took the bait and ran with it. That is all I have done here with the initial post is see just how entrenched in dogma the posters here are on this. I have a pretty good sense of that now.

What you fail to understand is the I do not care about all that stuff. It means NOTHING to me. You can quote all the scriptures and passages you wish and I will still not care. I have a personal faith. It belongs to ME and I could honestly care less if anyone likes it or not. The difference is....I will praise you for you faith. You will bash me for mine.

This is why these discussions never lead to anything fruitful...only circular endless debate. I will now bow out of this one...peace out.

If you had *ever* shown any scriptural knowledge beyond what 5 year olds learn in Sunday school I *Might* think that you were trying to walk me somewhere.

But as it stands you have shown over and over again you make up *your* faith as it goes along so that God suits you. That's idol making...

Well, if you want to bring up property values, gay people will do it every time. I don't care who lives around me so long as they value their property, their community, etc., and take pride in themselves and their possessions. By pride I mean the term in a general sense.

This is my friends' and neighbors' back yard, who happen to be gay guys that have been with each other 20+ years (It was grass and had a problem with water run off near the fence before they put this in):

What's funny is if you look at the first picture, the house behind the umbrella (red brick) is another gay couple. The two couples cannot f'n STAND one another.

Had nothing to do with sexual orientation. The subdivision became fractured when the board, which was not voted in, decided to increase our dues by 300 per year. Those two idiots behind the umbrella sided with the board. We did not. It was WWIII in my neighborhood and it still lingers on.

They place a lien on your home. ....and then their houses mysteriously go up in smoke. The 300 is added to the already 300 we already paid. As for orientation, one of the guys down there, I won't mention his name, but he has a collection of rare Judy Garland dresses. My two friends are just like every other guy. The two groups are night and day in personality.

Surely you have some legal recourse. If some un-elected bunch of busy-bodies did that to me, I think my head would explode.

Wait. That's not true. I'd need to scrape up bail money for Mrs. Smaug, because she really WOULD kill them.

Whenever dues are increased, it is necessary to include a cap amount which cannot be exceeded without an approval vote.

Like I said, they pretty much installed themselves and when re-election came up, they didn't have a quorum and they still illegally sat themselves again. People just gave up. You'd have to fight with your money against them, with your money.

No CC&Rs where you live? People just don't wake up one morning to find themselves installed as the new government.

They did in my neighborhood. There was very little participation in the early meetings.
