NC Governor's education veto overridden

I don't know if I could agree with some of these cuts and I guess I have to take the good with the bad. It just sucks that there are some people who work for the state who will be pink slipped, especially teachers.

I wouldn't consider BEV's veto an education veto. Living in Mecklenburg County which uses the most archaic busing system in the nation it's easy to see where a lot of money could be saved and many true education jobs spared. Mecklenburg County built a high school for one community (Mint Hill) that voted for education bonds to pay for the school. Once completed the school board decided to bus "economically disadvantaged" students from across the district to that school while busing the Mint Hill students to another school. 01-wingedeagle Eliminate the waste before crying about revenue cuts BEV.

I just wished they would've offered alternatives.
