Seems pretty real to me. Ground affect could be helping him a bit.

RE: OT: Real or Fake?
I thought it was fake - the engine noise would have been louder than sh!t and any pilot flying that low just for kicks would be in trouble.

If that is real...that MOFO better do like the Blue Angel leader did...resign from flying jets... He damn near killed himself, those that followed him and those on the ground...That is insane.01-wingedeagle

RE: OT: Real or Fake?
The video is completely believable, though you have to be pretty dumb to fly that low/fast. As far as engine noises, the camera is clearly not that high quality, so I'm assuming a lot of distortion occurred. Gut reaction wanted to say Harrier, but looking at the second A/C frame by frame, the intakes don't seem large enough, plus I didn't see any rotating exhaust nozzles. Finally the blue working unis raised some doubts that these are even Americans. So if they're in Europe, who cares. Do that in the US you're definitely not flying again.

Side note Fo, the Blues skipper gave up command, but I don't think they stripped him of his wings. While he may not receive flying-duty again given his seniority and the fact that losing command is a big deal, I'm sure he'd hop in a jet again in a heart beat and I would trust him to be a safe pilot. Given what the Blues do (formation aerobatics) he felt that he had failed to hold himself to the squadron's standard and judged to have put the rest of the flight in danger. But as an aviator, he still has the skill set and knowledge to go back to the fleet.

I gotcha....I actually respect the BA skipper for giving up command. I would have no problem getting on a aircraft in which he was the pilot.04-cheers

If you do, I'd bring an airsickness bag with you, cause you probably just strapped yourself into an F-18 piloted by a former Blues leader, and there's no set of controls in the back...

Sh!t...Id love to give it a try. I think I could handle it. I have never been prone to motion sickness. 60 miles out in the Gulf Stream in 10 seas...Yes...I did get scared...but...not sick. I understand though... that you are talking about a whole different ballgame.04-cheers

Did anyone else notice the streak that the plane left on the ground? Holy crap!

My guess is that he was supposed to come through at the height of the 2nd plane but missed his mark a bit. If the landing gear had been down, that plane would have crashed.
