I agree with you that the bill as a whole has serious constitutional questions, and I'm hoping that the bill as a whole gets overturned. Just pointing out the hazards if it doesn't.
I remember reading there was no severability put into the bill. Meaning if want part is stuck down the whole bill goes.
I could be wrong but I never heard if that was removed.
I heard the same thing.
They blundered the severability part. I remember 2000+ pages passed the house with administrative procedures, down party lines.
Actually they blundered the whole ObabaCare Bill, but got the severability part right.

The U.S. Constitution may be flawed, but it's a whole lot better than what we have now.

The individual mandate is the best part of the bill. Seriously. If it fails, let's hope they throw the whole thing out. If they overturn the mandate and leave everything else in place, we are seriously, seriously screwed.

All appropriations must be accounted for. This means "National Healthcare". I'd like to see how that passes Constitutional muster.
I'm not disagreeing with you. I don't think Obamacare should pass Constitutional muster. I just don't think that the individual mandate is the worst part of the bill, and would rather see it fail on other grounds. Because the sooner Obamacare fails, the better off the US will be.
