Smaug, that was the one I thought of too....

In terms of agencies:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_def...l_agencies

Most of them were just renamed or had their powers folded into another agency. The ones that did disappear seem to be mostly World War related or parts of the New Deal.

A couple in our lifetime:

I think we need a new agency to look into this problem.

And there is no present vote in the Oval Office, but damn, he's trying.

For a guy with presidential aspirations 3% is a lot.

BTW, when you voted in the last election did you vote deomcrat, republican, indy, or present?

It was in Illinois...where it is more of a common practice...and who said he had Presidential aspirations at that time?

And I am a registered Republican in Ohio. And I voted for Democrats, Republicans and Independents last election.

Oh grow up will you? You don't go from the state legislature to a candidate for your parties nomination in 18 months unless you had some aspirations some years earlier.

Do you also think Hillary moved to NY because her end game was the US senate?

So Hillary living in NY made her a better presidential candidate? That makes no sense to me...can you please explain that philosophy?

And your timeline is slightly askew. Obama was elected a US Senator in 2004.

No idea what sollte sie denken means, but state residency has little to no bearing on the Presidency. Heck, if that were the case, wouldn't you want to call a state home that you had less of a chance of carrying to maybe get a home-state advantage?

Certainly NY is most always going to go with the Democrat.

It was a rhetorical question. Was sollte sie denken? Certainly NY has a few Electoral Votes and how many registered Democrats? Percentage of people on public subsidy, welfare, foodstamps? Unemployment compensation is one of the highest in the nation. So come on, simpletom, open those bloodshot eyes.

it was a shoe-in to get her elected to the senate where she could leap frog into the oval office. C'mon, you knew this.

Oops...so what went wrong? 03-wink

BTW - Who was the last senator before Obama to move directly into the White House...yeah...it had been awhile.

P.S.: It's only happened three times in our history (Harding, Kennedy, Obama). One Representative has moved directly into the White House (Garfield). Although Garfield was actually elected to the Senate and White House both...but took the presidency of course.

That is just off the wall. How many spouses of presidents go on to become president.

A real shell game you got going, simpleton. You are just foolish.

NY was the best track to the senate *that year* for Hillary and they also have a history of electing carpetbaggers. Yes *if* Hillary wanted to get a full term in so she could run in 08 NY was the best shot for her..

As to my timeline... Obama Assumed office in January of 2005 and officially declared his campaign in Jan of 2007 so 24 months (I was off by six)...

I don't have to retire from anything to play with my 7 grand kids. 4 live within 2 miles the other 3 in Austin, less than 200 miles. Life does'n get much better. However, It would be good if you retired from sex before you have any kids. How old are you now, 10, the same age as my oldest grandchild. Capisce?
