Will H Bowl 15 Be The Last
The U-Drove Humanitarian Bowl, for the second year in a row, gets great placement from ESPN. The Boise bowl game, which pits the WAC against the MAC will be televised Saturday, December 17th at 3:30 PM.
It's a tremendous time slot and the second bowl game of the season. Now I have to ask the tough question: will this be the last H-Bowl for the WAC?
With BSU leaving this season and Hawaii, Nevada, and Fresno State
set to bolt next year, it's more than like that ESPN will follow suit.
Sources tell me the H-Bowl is exploring new possibilities for its match-up that might not feature the WAC. "We have the right to explore other teams if for some reason the WAC is not eligible for the bowl" Says director Kevin McDonald.
Best case scenario for schools like Idaho and Utah State would be a WAC versus M-WAC showdown. The biggest challenge for the WAC is keeping enough teams in the league to stay bowl eligible.
My guess is that the H-Bowl folks would love to keep the possibility of Idaho playing in their game. However, for the certification of the game, the Boise based bowl game will be forced to look elsewhere meaning this could be the last year for the WAC in the H-Bowl.
