Could a few ASU, UNT, and UL fans give us some insight/background on your new HC's?

Also, in the poll, all sunbelt fans vote for which of the three teams you think will finish highest in conference standings. If you vote for your own team, tell us why you think your coach will help his team be the best out of the three in 2011.

From what little I know, I think ASU has the best chance based on the fact that their new coach isn't a completely new hire, and his offense can only get better.

Well UNT's new hire is Dan McCarney who was head coach of Iowa State and turned that program around. I really don't know much of the details, but he's had an assistant position at the University of Florida for the past few years. I also hear that he's very much a defensive minded coach, which might be good for the Mean Green. I wouldn't expect UNT to be bowl eligible, or even have a winning season necessarily for that matter, but I do expect them to be very, very much improved from the previous few years.

Look how we played as soon as todd dodge was gone...the team was compleatly different. We will be much improved under Coach McCarney. I expect North Texas to have 5-6 wins and maybe a bowl.

Dan McCarney coached at Iowa State for 12 years.
Mark Hudspeth coached at DII North Alabama for 7 years going 66-21.
Hugh Freeze coached 2 years at Lambuth going 20-5.

If Hudspeth can recruit in east Texas and keep the best talent in and around Lafayette at home I think he could turn the Cajuns around.

If Freeze can recruit half as good as he can coach Ark State will be tough to beat.

Dan McCarthy altough has 12 years coaching only had 4 winning seasons. But the pressure of him winning at Oaklahoma, Texas and Texas AM are behind him. I think he could fit in nice at UNT and UNT get back to winning like they did under Dickey.

Overall all 3 programs upgraded their HC positions in a major way.
