I was actually more worried that Georgia Southern was going to do better than us in the Sun Belt for a while, and the first year my fears were confirmed. But we settled in fast and luckily was the same App State as before the move to the Sun Belt.

Proud to be part of the SBC.

I think that's the real differentiation. App is the same app as they were before. GS every 10 years or so goes thru our identity crisis. In 2014 leaving the flex, it looked promising, but then we went cheap and hired a guy that shouldn't even be a high school coach. We've mostly been spinning since.

I don't think we'll go back to the option now, but if we do, it needs to be flexbone or nothing.

Just look at the total number of forum posts in the JMU forum. Over 333,000 posts with 6000 threads. It’s impressive and means you have support and are marketable.

What do you average in attendance? How much will the stadium hold?

I'm not a JMU person. They would have to answer.

I mentioned they would have a problem with a full slate of FBS teams. I was wrong on that one. Almost all of us struggled to get on our feet entering D-1A ball.

I think he was alluding to the fact that JMU's stadium is built up on only one side.

I'd be interested to know where you came up with that conclusion. Personally I'm not advocating any of them(or really any current FCS member for that matter) but on top of their historic win against Michigan, App State has won six consecutive conference titles, three FCS national championships, and in that six season span they won 10 games once, 11 games twice, 12 games once, 13 games once, and 14 games once and on top of all that, their attendance is currently better than anyone in the conference.

Comparatively speaking Texas State has three winning seasons in the last ten(only making the playoffs two of those three seasons) and Georgia State has played exactly eleven football games and last year lost to NAIA Lambuth and fellow start up South Alabama who will already be a league member in a few years.

Furthermore, while none of the three are going to do anything to help the conference in basketball, App State is the best of that group of three.

This guy should be in charge of assessing potential adds in the future
