5-10-2011 RIce @ ULL

Unless I have missed a game, it looks like the Sun Belt is 10-7 against C-USA teams with 7 games left.

And that's with 10 home games vs. 14 road games. Plus, SBC doesn't get to face Coosa's worst team-- Marshall, who has an RPI worst than that of MT.

To be fair Marshall has been playing with 7 players all season, two of whom are girls they grabbed from a local coed tee ball team.

That's the only way they could be worse than us...

Yes, it's been a tough year but we'll come back strong next season. I would not be surprised if we somehow squeeze into the SBC Tourney as an 8 seed, this year.

I believe we are 8 pitchers down-- we have to carry our 4th string catcher on road trips because we only have 27 players healthy on the entire team. We've even pitched a position player several times this season (and he's been one of our better ERA guys, unfortunately).

Oh I have no doubt this year is an anomaly, but it still stings big time.

That's good, we don't want to play that bad of a team, hurts the entire conference RPI..

actually, one of the main reasons why our BB program sucks is that they don't have a home and are forced to play conference home games an hour off campus in Charleston; they split OOC games between Charleston and Beckley, which is 2 hours away.

Wasn't actually intended as a knock against Marshall. Would have used the joke on anyone who happens to be worse off then us this year, no disrespect intended.

Yeah, no harm done. We're just joining together in ****** baseball brotherhood.

To be fair, no one in Huntington cares about baseball at all. Like a previous poster said, our "home games" are over an hour away from campus. We might get better if they were to build a stadium on or near campus. There would definitely be a semblance of fan interest if that were to happen.

We're typically one of the best teams in our league and as far as where the Sun Belt ranks against other conferences, baseball may be our best sport, typically ranking around 7th.
