If there's one thing that I'd like to see from our
program is more openness toward fans. Prior to the last two seasons, we've had open practices, and we had a lot of good seasons with that practice in place. In addition, little things, like reporting that Neil Barlow, a local kid who was a scholarship football player at Arkansas, had transferred to UALR and was redshirting within our basketball program. I would think that would be good recruiting publicity for local kids to have a high profile youngster like that who has chosen to walk on and play at UALR.
I love all the things Chris has done for our program, but I would hope he would encourage our coaches to begin to think of ways that they can relay information about our program to our fans. Obviously we're not going to get a lot from our local newspaper because it isn't in their interest to promote much except the Razorbacks, but it sees like our PR department needs to take up that slack and keep the information flowng.
Certainly there are some things that can't be reported, but why not keep positive things out there for the fans who financially support the program?

I guess it is up to Jeff. He seems to be doing a good job so far.

I love BTH, but that doesn't get information out there to the masses. There are probably Hog fans who might be interested in a former Hog footballer from Little Rock who chooses to play basketball at UALR. Those tidbits should be in the paper on a regular basis.

We know Barlow was announced at least by Feb 8th. This is a link I previously put on private board.

All UALR fans need to know about BTH. That's where I now go for information. I don't know who Matt Harris is- but it obviously makes a big difference to have a reporter who really cares about the program. Jeff would have gotten an article in today's paper about Taggart Lockhart come hell or high water. Instead we got a sentence or two in the "Sports Briefs".

I don't know how I missed that one. I read all the posts. Well. We know now anyway.
