Pulled this off the Big East 'expansion' board:

This guy is actually commenting from a VUhoops.com announcement which says that Villanova has enough votes from its Board to accept a Big East football move.
http://www.examiner.com/college-football...s-big-east

Big question now is whether or not the Big East goes to 12 (this would put them at 10). If the Big East stays at 10, at least to the end of this fiscal year (i.e. June 30) then every one in C-USA is locked in for another year and La Tech will have to fish or cut bait on an SBC decision by the end of the SBC fiscal year.

Don't forget our meeting in Destin is in May. If we don't hear something shortly from the Bulldogs, it appears they may be stuck in the WAC indefinately.

Price of poker is going up boys.

It's Sun Belt or bust for them. There are teams above them, and if we were to lose two members to the Big East, we might just stay at 10. Like the Sun Belt, CUSA has said that it would only expand to add value, not reach an arbitrary number.

17 works in basketball, you can play everyone once and have a 16 game slate. Play two rivals twice and play 18.

Adding two more is problematic. Football only? All-sports? Gets to be harder to deal with and if all-sports dilutes the power of the hoop schools. If football only the hoop schools know there will always be pressure to add them all-sports.

The conference is unwieldy and really just needs to split into two leagues. It's silly that the glue holding the entire thing together is the BCS cartel.

Take BCS money out of the equation and TCU for sure isn't in nor is USF.
