WKU Has New Helmets?
I was on the Helmet Project site and noticed they were showing a white helmet with the WKU logo and red stripes for the 2011 helmet. I've never been a fan of the WKU logo, but I like this helmet better then last years. Is there a new uniform to go with it? Any pictures?

Yes it is true, that is indeed our helmet design for next season. And I have heard we are also getting new jersey's as well, but I haven't seen a photo of them yet. I believe we are also getting a brand new design for our basketball jersey's as well.

No, the new helmets will not help us win more games and neither will the new jerseys for football or basketball. Now do you have any other questions smart ASS.

Don't get your bowels in an uproar! I just wanted to know so we could get some new ones up in Denton. Hell, we tried voodoo and that didn't work for the past 7 years.

Maybe you guys should start/ join a totally new football conference so you could go back to winning titles with losing seasons, then get replaced by some new guy on the block and hire a highschool coach to come save you. Wait...

...kidding of course. We love you guys.

Not bad but I think red stripes on the silver helmets would look nice as well.

I just want to know, is that new stadium going to help you guys win football games? I mean, if helmets is the key to wins, y'all sure spent a lot more on the stadium than it would have cost to paint some helmets.

everyone needs to take a chill pill. good natured ribbing is partially what this board is all about.

the ability to come together to discuss news, drama, smack, and joy is what we want. Let's keep the profanity out of it, ok fellas?

Well, did your stadium upgrade help recruiting? Or is it the 35-40 players you bring in every year?

For the record, Fouts Field need to be replaced years ago. Those visitors who have been to Fouts know what I'm talking about. Hopefully the new stadium get us equal to, facilitywise, other programs in our region and in the Sun Belt. Our recruiting should improve also.

And hopefully we'll have newly designed HELMETS as the icing on the cake!03-lmfao

I would say yes, our facilities have helped us recruit. As to your little jab there, you sound like you're jealous of our success and wanting something to blame.

It has been said time after time, we do not break any rules. So, you bringing it up just comes across as sour grapes.

I'm sorry we replaced you guys as top dog and haven't looked back since, but harping on something that is in no way illegal by NCAA rules is not going to change anyting. Only your AD getting its act together can.

And finally, even though this has been said before, I will reitterate it for our Mean Green fan here.

Our oversigning and placing kids in JUCOs is not cheating. The kids are not required to return to Troy once they get their grades where they need to be. In fact, if you look at what we do, it is a positive for many of these kids. They may not have taken highschool seriously enough, they may just not be book smart. Larry Blakeney finds the best character guys out of those ranks and helps them find a home in the JUCO system. There they not only get more help with their classes than you would at a big institution, they also get more field experience and playing time to get ready for the speed of college football.

If the kid gets his grades where they need to be and wants to honor his commitment to us, we welcome him back and it counts against that year's numbers.

Sooooo, stop whining about this. It hasn't been this huge advantage over everyone that some of you make it out to be. We don't get to have more players on our roster or extra points on the board...even though it does seem like we do sometimes. 03-lmfao
